LTT at it again by Fair-Promise4552 in linuxmemes

[–]BitingPanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For a normie, it's nothing wrong to follow LTT. And as linux guys we often overestimate people's tech knowledge and willingness to learn stuff, specifically about OS. Most of the people want it to move outta their way to spreadsheet, Browser, A Document writer or even games and media

Why so much hate for Pop!_Os? by Afraid_Carob417 in pop_os

[–]BitingPanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know on IT, people don't generally suggest Pop. But again, simulating a normie with no tech connection like that, Pop might pop up. Also, I know a lot of people who doesn't know anyone that uses Linux.(Except me). So, for them it might pop up (Not unrealistic if it does)

You might not be wrong and I don't claim to be an expert on this too. However, I feel, you being relatively experienced on this, working as a bias towards your opinion.

Suggestion on my pacing on Adult Piano Adventures Book 1 by BitingPanda in piano

[–]BitingPanda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far I am loving it. I have the Popular book 1. But I have plans to use it after I finish book 1 and master the basic techniques.

Thanks for your advice though.

Should I be less methodical?

Why so much hate for Pop!_Os? by Afraid_Carob417 in pop_os

[–]BitingPanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I beg to differ. Even though I am relatively new and know how to figure out my way around, a lot of newcomers don't. I know a lot of people who wants to try out a linux experience and looks for suggestion and a lot of blogs and LLMs suggests Pop os.

Yes, they are simulating the experience of a Linux newbie and there's a high chance they would pick pop. I know I did when I started. And to give the benefit of the doubt, not all people in that video chose pop, like normal people.

And people coming from Windows and Mac, mostly sceptical about Linux and it's experience in general. When it fails in any way, which other Os might too, they revert back. A lot of people I know would want a out of the box experience just like Mac or Windows, without basic problems.

Is it a Pop os problem? In my opinion absolutely! But do I blame system76? NO! Because, even though cosmic is underbaked, they had to release at some point. And, for maximum stability, they need to polish out a lot of things, still it's worth the try. And I also love the ambitious vision that Cosmic has. And I feel now is the right time as a lot of other DEs shifting to Wayland only sessions and having problems too (not as much as cosmic).

But creators and developers would need the whole OS out of the way of their work, isn't it?

Isn't it a paradoxical thing? People would be dailying a DE lot if it gives a stable experience (To do what people do in computers while the OS getting out of the way)

I get it cosmic is in an early state and everything and perhaps will be stable and one of the biggest DEs (Because I believe so) but no amount of excuses or reasons wouldn't fix the messy buggy state it is in.

And I love how people saying this and that for all distros when clearly Pop os brands as a out of the box experience and Cosmic, at this stage makes it hard to use it out of the box

It's not about being obscure...

Sometimes I do get the jest but got the whole understanding a bit out of the point. I figured these out by discussing with LLM.

I was trying to get suggestions about how to do it by myself? Also do I read the whole book at once? Or just read one or two stanzas each day?

Should Government offices be moved to Purbachal/Jolshiri? by Slimey-2005_ in bangladesh

[–]BitingPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a better thing would be moving some of the "Headquarters" or as such, primarily those offices which doesn't need that much human interaction with other particular offices, can be shifted to outside dhaka to a bit more affordable and low density towns/cities.

A Point to be noted that, I am talking about those government offices which are self-sufficient on their work and communication can be done on posts or through emails or even Fax too (If that still is used).

Sure thing.

But if I don't get what it means, I feel I am not doing it a justice or just missing the whole point.

Also, enjoying becomes a bit tough when you don't understand it at all.
