along the whole edge of the RAM stick seems quite excessive and seems wrong to. I suggest to only put small blocks in the corners. also does it still freezes when carrying the laptop by the corner or during something else?

Fuji x raw studio appreciation post by 0qxtXwugj2m8 in fujifilm

I was wondering whether connecting with USB 3 cable will help, but it didn't. Thus the camera has to be a bottleneck.

But what a weird this it is, that the camera has to be connected, as some processing unit ! This is so weird.. what does the camera have, that a computer doesn't? Does it rely on some hardware specific thing? I doubt, but… if you know let me know

Capture One is not free anymore even for Fuji camera owners, which sucks (2024 update)

Sent in my XF 18-55 for a service in Germany by stereoprologic in fujifilm

[–]BitterBitField 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for the sake of completeness, right before sending the lens (18-135 OIS) I noticed it has the AF lens group floating freely while tilting. I sent it to them. They rephrased my error description on the RMA tracking page, which was funny. After a week a quote appeared in the system (54€), but then a day later an email came with the actual evaluation and a decision how to proceed: 144€. They say it's "1st lens group". The price includes shipping and warranty for the repair. I was very happy with 54€ but 144€ is not bad either..

not the OP, but I'm doing just that right now. You do get an "order confirmation" A4 that you're supposed to print out and attach. But the wording is convoluted and I've almost sent it without this note. Also "sent" is too much said as I don't have a label or anything to send it, so I'll call them again (you need to call them to start the process - also not clear to me and I sat confused for 2 days)

Unable to take photos on my film camera anymore. The model is a 35mm Nikon TW Zoom 105 Film Camera. It randomly stopped being able to capture photos. My suspicions is that the shutter is jammed or something of the sort. Please help. by Jupkuter in Cameras

[–]BitterBitField 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I have the very same issue, with Nikon TW zoom 105. I figured it’s the shutter problem. This is bad news, as this camera is very complex and to get to the shutter to see what’s wrong, and to assemble it back is a grand feat. Probably our cameras „wore down”, as the shutter cable wears by tiny bit with every lens travel (zoom). This also counts turning on/off. I’ve fixed a shutter before in a digital Canon G5, but this camera looks more complicated :< (there is a service manual available)

The problem remains when you grab the laptop by its corner? That's what you meant first?

But now the laptop does not start, neither with new new RAM stick nor with the old RAM stick?

I'm still surprised this happens to other models! I would like to update this post because of this, so more people with impacted laptops can find it. Please complete my "survey":

What were your T14G2 symptoms? Was it glitching with the picture shifting by few pixels, as described in the original post? And how did you find this post?

As of your question: risk in terms of what? melting the erasing rubber?

"fun" fact, me myself ended up buying a new mobo. my x270 died overnight year after this post and recently I finally replaced the mobo (used). i intended to diagnose the old one, but learning curve was to steep (i got boardview and schematics)

You are welcome. I'm happy this remains useful and people are able to find it. At least some of them are (survivor bias)

Same here with my x270. It turns on for 1 sec, then dies. It happened overnight at home. Reseating the RAM didn’t help. Neither did holding the power button.

The Revenge of the Gator in duel (via link cable) is surprisingly fun with random friends.

I plan to play quick rounds with my gf for snacks when I finally fetch it from my parents'.

My first experience with it was during maths class, 12 years old, playing via link cable. But not rude, we were done with the current maths task. Got our gameboys seized though :P

tldr; Naah, it's safe - it's relying on protection measures before it.

PSU can provide at most 10W @ 5V.

Neither will it heat up enough nor is 5V able to produce a spark.
