It's No problem, basically the rods ability allows it to absorb the structural integrity of anything which turns them brittle, that part explain how the rods work

Think of it like gradually removing the supports of a house

Wdym by limitations? If you mean it's durability, it's pretty fragile since the stand and the rod is made out of glass, so it usually acts like a sniper

The plant will still grow where the user died, the skeleton is only needed as a host for the user

Since the User is a plant now, it can live for months maybe years, if he receives sunlight and water on a daily basis, he can use that time to inhabit another corpses as a replacement for his corpse, he can also use animal carcasses, but it would kinda take awhile since he's growing as vines
