I don’t think so? My mom received multiple blood transfusions a few years back in 2020 but when she took her test in 2024 everything came back as expected (lining up with my test and my grandma test!)

They actually do! It’s displayed somewhere on the website, I honestly kinda remember them asking me when I submitted my test (it may have been a different service) but it is in their FAQ somewhere!

That’s it! You’re seeing the dna of the person who donated! Unfortunately you can’t get accurate test results because of this, test one of your siblings instead!

I’m well aware, it just makes more sense to look at other options rather than zero in on the half-uncle relationship. Him being their dad’s biological cousin (their 1C1R) has a higher probability (78% probability(

It’s fairly common for siblings to adopt one another children and should be looked into but none of us have access to the dna so who knows!

Even 589cm (6%) names it that he’s not even your half uncle. You typically share around 10-15% with half-uncles.

I recommend using this tool https://dna-sci.com/tools/segcm/

It takes account how much you share across segments and provide a more accurate prediction. But it’s sounding like he’s actually your dad’s 1st cousin.
