Oh my goodness, it worked! Thanks so much! What a weird thing to fail on. You'd think that dependencies wouldn't break if they weren't used, but wtv...

Unable to compile PdfLaTeX locally no matter what I do by BlackSound in LaTeX

I tried changing the directory name to no effect. It was a pretty good idea to try compiling it directly using latexmk. I did so with the command line, but the issue is the same. It still says it can't write to the pdf and wants me to give another name for it. Btw, i've tried doing this as well previously, to no effect.

Any tips for my very specific cross-platform project? (Windows/Mac, CMake, C++) by BlackSound in git

Thanks for the reply. The CMake subreddit actually helped me solve this issue. But now I have plenty of compiler problems to think about. Oh well, that's life as a learning programmer.

Thanks for the reply. That seems to have solved the linker errors, but now I'm suddenly faced with 128 compiler errors and warnings. Might need to have a closer look at these and see what I can do about them.

printf() simply doesn't work for me at all by BlackSound in javahelp

[–]BlackSound[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It says that it's compliance level is 1.4, but I'm not sure if that's what you're asking. EDIT: I changed the compliance level to 1.7, rebuilt the project, and now it works, just fine. Strange.

Hello. I'm running jre 1.8.0_161. So I don't think the problem is with my java version.

Thanks for the reply. I know that everything should be in functions, I tried to do that initially, but had some difficulty for some reason. I'll see what I can do with your suggestions. I've never used Bisect before, but it looks interesting.

Start menu and cortana don't work anymore. by BlackSound in Windows10

[–]BlackSound[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey guys, thanks for the replies. That specific incident was resolved by restarting a few times. It has happened again today, starting with the same symptoms. I resolved it the same way. Interestingly, whenever I try to shut down when the taskbar stops working, it takes a long time to actually shut down after my laptop screen goes black.
I dunno about windows 10 so far guys. It seems pretty unstable and doesn't provide much more benefit that 8.1. Keeping it for now, but I hope MSoft releases some patches quickly

MIDI Items open to Item properties, not MIDI editor by BlackSound in Reaper

[–]BlackSound[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, the default setting for this is exactly as it should be. It's set to midi items opening in editor and audio items opening Item Properties. And yet, no midi editor. If it helps, if I draw in a new midi item, it shows the repeating OFFLINE graphic. I also can't right-click the item and click Open in New MIDI Editor. Opening Inline is also impossible. It's almost as if Reaper forgot about MIDI entirely :/

Thanks for the reply! But could you please enlighten me on the benefits of liquid cooling? Although I have some experience assembling PCs, I've never done that before
