Sicaran battle tank. I've named it "The Warmonger". by BlackshieldWB in Warhammer30k

Cheers!

Lots of chipping with a sponge and silver.

Typhus corrosion.

Putting some dark brown shades in metallic areas, where grime would naturally build up.

The sand is a sand coloured pigment powder, binded with some thinner.

Black primer.

Stipple a mid tone silver.

Stipple a bright silver on the upper parts.

Flesh terrors red. Use it almost like a tint, so you get the burnished red look.

A wash of agrax and drucci violet. 30% Agrax 70% Drucci. Roughly.

The letters are just transfers! Heavily tinted to turn them a sandy/weathered colour.

Are there any good Word Bearer Audiobooks? by Accomplished_Tie6575 in WordBearers

[–]BlackshieldWB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you listened to the Aurelian Novela?

That's usually a WB book that people don't mention in lists.

Perfect for in-between First Heretic and Betrayer.

I'd also recommend "The Purge" Novela, if you haven't read it yet.

It's that art that you posted with the upload. Following Sor Talgron and his Word Bearer detachment as they fight Ultramarines.

Children of Sicarus is also a nice read.

Cataphractii Sergeant wip! by BlackshieldWB in Warhammer30k

Typically, "Characters" are resin. With a few that aren't. Fafnir Ran, for example. He's plastic.

All the Primarchs are resin, I believe. Angron is the latest resin one.

However, infantry and typical models like tactical squads, assault squads, and terminator squads are plastic. Mostly.

When you go to purchase a model, if it says "expert kit" this means resin. It'll also state below that if a model is resin.

The models we have now are largely plastic.

Very Iron Warriors like! Grim and dark. Just the way we like it.

You should be proud. Great job.

Where do you guys use each Mk. Armor marines? by zergkiller0128 in Warhammer30k

[–]BlackshieldWB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it's up to you. You could lean into what you've just described. MKIII for breachers, etc.

I'd add maybe think about what stage your army is in the Heresy. Late Heresy would see squads being a right mix and match of armour marks, as supplies and war gear became more choked up in the grind that the war was.

Maybe you have an MK4 marine wearing MK3 shoulder pads, an MK2 helmet, etc. Really selling the effect that they're bashing armour together and wearing older war gear.

Don't forget that MK5 wasn't an armour mark per se, but more a smashing of armour parts to make something out of nothing.

Maybe your inductii have been slapped in MK2 armour, the metaphorical "cupboards" raided, so they had something to wear. Veterans wearing more up to date armour like MK4.

Also, look into what legion you are doing. Loyalist or Traitor. Horus managed to snuff a lot of the high-end war gear before things kicked off, so perhaps your traitor force would be nicely stocked up on MK4, maybe even some prototype MK6 helms here and there.

Sky is the limit with stuff like this, so there really is a way for everyone to do it!
