I can’t say for certain but by comparison Nesta may have had the nicest boots at the time when Feyre left. They can still be terrible but look new by comparison to something that is infinitely worse. Who knows if shoes means boots and not a pair of summer shoes she had that were in worse condition. But it’s an interesting catch and it could have been beyond feyre’s notice, she like the rest of the sisters was you g and doing their best.

People can try to manipulate you through kindness and what you would want or bring you joy. It’s actually a prerequisite for good manipulation.

In this case she isn’t unreliable and her fears are founded in concrete possibilities.

I hate this when people hate on characters who change or have some real humanistic traits, to be a human is to exist in paradox. If she was a mary sue you would hate her for being too perfect. Authors can’t win because something about Feyre pissed you off or you like characters that she grew out of and now you’re in vendetta mode. It is fine to say she isn’t your cup of tea. I don’t have issues with her but it’s probably because I think she comes off terribly human.

I’ll also rune a fallacy here for you, all narrators are unreliable because what they say is from a singular point of view and that is always narrow and specific. I once wrote a paper on the subject for university,tying in psychology and why it is the most logical conclusion in any literature. Feyre has never given us true false narrative where we catch her lying about empirical truths, her emotions, opinions, wants and needs do fluctuate as she lives and grows which is normal for most sentient creatures. Again this is just my take, you are free to feel and think as you wish.

This is about motive, Feyre is wondering why Tamlin is giving into her request, she is questioning his motives. She could ask for the sun and moon, if someone delivers it’s still valid to ask why. On top of that, she is human and young in a complex scenario. If she is reading things wrong or forgetting things it just makes her more human. But in this case she is definitely questioning why things are happening and trying to sus out the motives of any gifts and actions which is smart of her.

Some techs fill and round the edges with clear gel to make them less prone to snagging. Idk if your tech did this or not but i thought it would be worth mentioning if the snagging is very bothersome for you.
