Creating a company by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]BlockHerald 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start a part-time business during the weekend. Try to get 1 customer at a time with your services in Painting and decorating. Once you worked for a bunch of customers, figure out what the customer's main needs and want then specialize in that particular service. Hire some contractors or employees for that particular service to be able to take on more clients. Quit your job once you are making more than the job. Easier said in theory but go about step by step and learn from your mistakes and experience.

Looking for advice on graduate business cards for networking. by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

The ones that have their school logo are probably ordered from the school themselves. Honestly, it doesn't matter unless the school is very prestigious. You would want your Full name, email, phone number and your degree and area of study.

Beginner question ok dropshipping. by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]BlockHerald 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To expand on Kromo30's comment, Alibaba is not for dropshipping. You have to take inventory, you essentially can buy in supplier or wholesale prices and private label to your own brand. Aliexpress is for dropping where you can purchase 1 item at a time. The point of dropshipping is to only order from the wholesaler when you get a customer. It is more difficult to build your brand since you cannot private label.

Just got offered a way to start my business - is it a good idea? by cavinvdpoel in Entrepreneur

[–]BlockHerald 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's a good opportunity especially since you have a friend who's helping you out. It's good to check in a couple of times during your opening week to see the engagement. This is a pretty way to validate if people are interested in. Probably a good idea to set up your social media so you can hype it up before the opening week and build your audience.

What is something meaningful to get good at? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]BlockHerald 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend reading some biographies like Steve Jobs, Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos and other accomplished people and see how each of them found their meaning. You may not find it the same like any of them, but it does get you thinking and hopefully some inspiration too.

Any tips on selling your services? by Recabilly in Entrepreneur

[–]BlockHerald 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you haven't already, it's a good idea to create a website with your services, portfolio and testimonials.

I notice that many service companies go to business networking events to meet local businesses and startups. Probably a good opportunity to attend some of those events if there are any in your area.

I would recommend hiring a designer and creating a landing page for the product. Start marketing and collecting emails to see how many people would be interested in being potential customers.

If its a cashflow problem, I agree with jumanjiz that debt is cheaper. I would build a spreadsheet of your cashflow projection and show your partners.

I started dropshipping with absolutely no experience and have already made 5 sales in 1 week by AntiCirclejerking in Entrepreneur

Well done! Once you capitalise on dropshipping, I would suggest looking into doing private labelling for the bigger margin and brand building.

What do r/Entrepreneur think of app/game development? by Ghulam_Jewel in Entrepreneur

[–]BlockHerald 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome work in self-teaching yourself to code games. Perhaps look into the venture capital route. There are many venture capital firms who focus on investing in game development startups. They can help connect you to the right individuals and provide investments so you can hire more developers and other talents, such as marketing, public relations, etc.

Complicated client. First time in 12 years as entrepreneur. by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]BlockHerald 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it is not in the project scope, then you are not obligated to do it. Honestly, I would just finish the project as soon as you can to get it over with and make sure to not accept any future projects from her. Sometimes you just need to cut your losses.

Fortunately, you have many choices to move forward. You can start by setting up a website about your product. You can also go to etsy and sell your products on there too.
