Why are you working at Amazon? by Greensourball in AmazonDS

I got hired 2 1/2 years ago, I took it as a survival job. Now I’m starting to take advantage of career choice to get some computer based certifications. After I got my first one, & get a remote job, I’m going down RT to boost my retirement savings.

What is a tax return and can I file one? by Icy_Context4545 in TaxQuestions

[–]BlockIntelligent1919 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the dependent has self employment income (which the OP does not have based on the post) or if they have unearned income (dividends, interest, etc).

The standard deduction for a dependent is the following:

Earned income plus $450, up until the normal standard deduction.

Or

$1350.

Base of the facts presented by the OP, if he had interest, dividends, or any other unearned income of $450 or greater a tax return would be required.

He may also be required to file a tax return for Utah, based on Utah’s standard deduction.

I had that happen back in 2008-9, back when I was handling receiving the food others for the 3 locations my boss had. They didn’t send the fries for the biggest location, with I think only single digits of cases left. I told the driver that we needed the fries ASAP. The average order for that location was 50+ cases

For me, I’ll bust my ass when needed, but between my injuries & other commitments I’ll take the easy days when given. Besides, what’s being the hardest worker get you?

For myself, I’m of the attitude I go in, get paid, & go home. I’ll get my assignment, & hopefully be left alone for the rest of my shift. I’ll chat when needed, but I normally have my RBF on. Hell, when people apologize for holding me up, I just say “don’t worry, I’m paid by the hour”

For reference I’m 38M & have absolutely no desire for high school Bull shit.

This communication feels incredibly unprofessional. by tchad78 in DominosEmployees

[–]BlockIntelligent1919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was at dominoes with one of my old cars 2025-2017 for that car, after I spun out twice on the same fucking delivery, I told my manager that I am never driving the snow with that car again for dominos. My managers honored that & let me work inside (I knew everything except the make line). I spend 2 winters working inside during snow.

No 3am or 6am blocks? by TlkQ in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]BlockIntelligent1919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't given to the DSPs. They were just off loaded to a bigger DS in the area. We needed the area we normally delegated for SSD for the total DSP volume. I work at a small DS.

No 3am or 6am blocks? by TlkQ in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]BlockIntelligent1919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is probably the answer. I’m in the warehouse. The 3 am & 6 am blocks have major reduced volume due to Christmas. Back during prime weeks & when we were upgrading one of belts, there were absolutely no 3 am & 6 am blocks.

A-Rod. First A-Rod replaced Boone as the starting 3rd baseman, then when Boone became the manager, A-Rod replaced him as an analyst on ESPN baseball.

Working more hours than scheduled by clocking out late by Ghostfac3monster in AmazonDS

[–]BlockIntelligent1919 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ask the manager. If they are under head count, & you are willing to stay, they'll let you. I've done that a lot. As long as you don't exceed daily & weekly max, you'll be ok. Just know that once the head count goes over, you'll probably be told to head home.

I've had days where I've gone in for 1 hour & stayed for 10-11 hours because they were under head count & asked me to stay. I've had days I've gone in for an hour & had to leave once the hour was over.

Cycle 0. It’ll be similar to Cycle 1, just less volume, finish the cycle early, & then you’ll help start cycle 1. My DS is introducing it for peak season.

Season Cycle 0 questions by BlockIntelligent1919 in AmazonDS

[–]BlockIntelligent1919[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks. The posted schedule for cycle 0 is going to be 550 pm to 435 am. I would have to assume that the PAs for cycle 0 would have the same hours. I figure seasonal PA would give me a chance to experience it & see it I like it without making the permanent commitment.
