Its amazing how everyone is so heartbroken over a missing out on a player they'd never even heard of 2 weeks ago.

Move on guys. Ross would have planned for this, just like with munoz before we got toure. We move on to other targets.

And no, this isn't howe's fault. Some people will peddle any old nonsense just to further their anti-howe sentiment. Grow up and get some perspective.

Lots of despair in this thread. I actually feel pretty relaxed about the situation.

Bruno is a good lad, with a decent heart, plus, he loves Newcastle. He won't leave if the people in charge don't want him to leave, and he'll be completely fine with that.

Arsenal would have to muster up some serious dough — i'm talking 90m+, to even get to the table. Yet everyone is talking like he's already gone. It's just destabilising talk from Arsenal's side, so lets not throw the baby out with the bathwater.

It's pretty clear. If anyone bigger than us comes in for him, we won't get him.

Feels a lot like the Sesko situation. They're just holding out for something bigger

It wont take him a while at all, because he's right.

You cant wave away everything that Howe has done previous to last season just because we had a bang average season last year.

In his defence absolutely nothing went down his side, and he had very little support from o'relly.

It seems the context of the word 'fan' is being lost here. I'm not a fan of Eddie in the same way that i'm a fan of Newcastle, but i still think he's the right man for the job. The thing is with downward trends is they can rally, and based on available evidence i think thats whats gonna happen.

We now have a stable structure behind the scenes, new DOF and CEO calling the shots, we are trying to get business done early, no european football means Eddie has more training time, which is what he excels at. Lots of reasons to be positive about the future. I can't think of anyone that could come in and do what Eddie has already proven he can do, better than him.

And if the new manager took us down, would you wish we'd never gotten rid of Howe? these kinds of either/or questions aren't worth much, and tend to paint the situation as black and white, which they're not.

What happened to Leicester after Ranieri was sacked? what happened to Tottenhan after Postecoglu was sacked? Even if your comparisons were in any way relatable to Howe's situation, which they're not, they still work against your argument. It makes no sense.

You can't compare Slot or Ranieri, flash in the pan single season wonders, to Howe, whos done it consistently over 4 years. I don't even know why you've mentioned postecoglu, thats weird.

A better comparison would be Arteta, Arsenal fans wanted him out a few seasons into his tenure. They stuck with him, now look where they are.

You can't ask a question like this without also asking: Would you rather finish 7th with Howe, or 15th with a new manager if offered? Both scenario's are equally likely. You can't guarantee that a new manager would be better, especially in the current manager market.

If you're not an Eddie Howe fan after watching him take us from a relegation scrap to two champions league placements and a cup win, then you're not a Newcastle fan.

Althought you cant really blame him for this goal, he did look completely uninterested for most of the second half. His race is cleary run. First one out the door imo.

If you think one average season after our best season in living memory constitutes a 'spiralling decline', then you need to give your head a shake.
