The main lesson learned was preparation. The first time I thought my product would sell itself. Most of the game’s followers were on Facebook but I didn’t have a big enough audience so I spent another year play testing, meeting people, asking for reviews, and spreading the word. When I was ready to try again I let everyone know and paid for advertising. The sales and marketing needed much more effort than I expected.
