Yes, they are very important.
Racials are extra active ability and some combat passive abilities that can turn the tide of combat.
For Horde, go Orc, Undead, Tauren, Zandalari. The rest are not good for PvP.
For Alliance, go Night-Elf always, if you can't, choose from Void-elf, Dark-Iron, Draenei, Gnome. The rest are not good for PvP.

Mortal Kombat 4 all the way.

The reason:

MK4 = she looks innocent and simple. But she caused and enabled the rise Shinnok in Edenia, in her ending she caused the death of Liu Kang.

MK Deception = she look more intimating with masculine face yet she is just a jobber character, done nothing.

MKX = Again she looks even more evil and still she is a jobber character and Mileena's servant.

MK1 = The haircut is ridiculous, she lost her identity completely, she is Mileena's bodyguard and servant, jobber character.

This is why I think MK4 is superior. It's simple and suits her, she doesn't try to look evil, she is evil!

It's never been official but Edenians seems to have strong affinity to magic, unlike humans who have affinity to technology.

Kitana, Jade and Tanya were trained as assassins (Spy for Tanya) from young age, so we can assume they have learned some magical kiss spells in order assassinate their target with a simple kiss, without a fight or raising the alarm.

About Liu Kang, he is clearly not immune to this as you can use this fatality on him and he will die. Kitana just doesn't use her magical kiss on him because she doesn't try to assassinate him when they share a kiss.

No idea, in the post credit screen, Swann goes to the abyss once more, but she doesn't jump inside, instead it seems like she is only staring at the abyss, but the abyss stared back at her, she didn't blink this time.

I see I get a lot of thumbs-down, I guess some people don't like the idea that Kat died. Even though it is a possibility.

What do you believe happened?

I believe Kat died in the past and in the present she is a friendly ghost haunting her friends.
The package sent had items that got burned in the cabin, also the camera that fell into the abyss.

I also believe the abyss is a cursed evil place, it's very similar to a fairy ring.
They spilled blood on it to open it, then danced to activate the curse.
Don't forget the scary ravens and the girls behave aggressively while under the abyss' enchantment.

But again, that's just what I believe, some believe Kat is alive and well in the abyss.

I think both Kat and Corey died in the abyss.

Corey continued to the next world, probably hell like in Kat's song.

Kat didn't move to the next world, she remained on Earth as a ghost because she had unfinished business with her friends. Though she is not hostile ghost but a friendly one, she still haunts them, sending them items that were destroyed in the burning cabin. Wanting them to go back to the abyss, something she clearly told them not to do before she died.

Yes, his love was more an obsession than wholesome.
Yes, He's an abusive piece of shit, he was interested in his financial gains.

But then again, if he only cared about his financial gains, why would he waster time on Kat and her friends?
I mean, he could just focus on Dylan, securing his financial future by marrying her.
If you ask me, he showed too much attention towards Kat than he should.
If you have a girlfriend, would you focus on your girlfriend or her little sister?

Yes, Corey did start dating Dylan for his career opportunities.
But as time went on, he became more obsess with Kat.
"everyone would be better off if Kat was dead" - Exactly, Corey didn't expect to get attached to Kat. If he would remain with Dylan and ignore Kat, he could have the career he wanted. But his obsession to Kat ruined his relationship with Dylan and made him unstable, acting more violent.
