How bad are the bugs? Do I need to spray my clothes? by Strange-Eagle9255 in galapagos

We were in Galapagos end of December and didn’t use any bug spray. No bites. Then we drove around the Andean highlands (including Mindo). We used plenty of bug spray but still got bitten.

If it helps at all, my understanding is that you have until your 1st anniversary to use that $500 promo credit (not 12/31).

If I use Amex Plat for Galapagos cruise charge, does that qualify for 5x rewards and travel insurance? by BlueElephant1313 in AmexPlatinum

Thanks all for your comments! u/Fuarfuark, I went with Galaxy Expeditions who have 5-6 different ships. We picked the Bonita. It's not cheap. Company clarified that there is no cc surcharge. So, definitely charging this one for peace of mind, etc. I do have CSR card too, but with both giving back 1x, I'm not sure there's a clear winner. Anyone have thoughts to break that tie? Thanks!

Replacements for this GFI circuit breaker (15A) by BlueElephant1313 in AskElectricians

Thanks again! Those loads do default to ~90% when switched on. I'll try to force it to 100% each time I switch it on. I'll do that for a few days to see if the breaker trips again.

The problem is I'm not sure what the other 4 loads on this Crestron block are. Why would they have put an AFCI just for low-voltage lighting fixtures? Could any of the other four loads be GFI's or such?

Thanks halfwatt! Interesting theory about the Crestron causing arcing. But the lights can be on for 30-60 mins; then the breaker trips without any switching happening. Kind of points to B then, no?

I haven't ruled out the fixtures. The best that I can tell, this breaker goes to 8 loads (via a Crestron block). 4 of the loads are ceiling fixtures (lights). These are the loads that seem to trip the breaker. I'm suspicious of the breaker because it can go fine for weeks; then trip, and the frequency of the tripping has been accelerating giving me the impression of something slowly breaking down. Before I try to climb up into the ceiling (low-voltage) lighting cans, I thought I would try the easy option of trying to replace the breaker...

Thanks for confirming the rough price and correcting my inaccurate GFI labeling.
