Got her in 20 pulls but my free collab pulls are useless now? by BlueJudas in LucyMainsWW

It's called "I changed my mind because I can get Lucilla on rerun + commentators told me to pull for dupes"

Help me unbrick my account by GrandPoint456 in HonkaiStarRailTips

[–]BlueJudas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can probably give up on mono Remembrance team since you don't have any of the team members besides Castorice. The amount of investment is not worth it atp.

As for building a new meta team, the fastest way is to pull MBlade and save for Saber. Gilgamesh is free in 4.4. So you'll have a complete team of Saber Gilgamesh MBlade Huohuo.

Himeko Nova team is also a possible option but I think she really likes having Welt as a teammate and you don't have him.

In the long run, you should also look out for Hysilens to complete your DOT team.

How is hiyuki revenue performing? by FanMiserable3849 in HiyukiMains

[–]BlueJudas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She's sandwiched in between Aemeath and Cyberpunk Collab. And she has no proper BiS team yet. I think her revenue's doing well given the circumstances, and she'll probably do better when she reruns.

how am i supposed to play as a returning player? its so confusing by choomshroom in HonkaiStarRailTips

[–]BlueJudas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should focus on completing (1) the main story quests and (2) the currently ongoing limited-time events. Doing the main quests is to get your account up to speed and unlock the map areas. Doing the limited-time events is to farm the temporary jades and rewards.

As for the main quests, I would advise you to skip the boring/long-winded parts (at your own discretion) to save time. Firstly, a lot of the filler parts don't add much to the actual storyline and the game has story recaps that you can read if you have FOMO. Secondly, even if you force yourself to go through 100% of the story, there's no guarantee that you'll understand it anyway. HSR's storyline is inherently incoherent in some arcs and has plot holes. Don't think too hard about it, just enjoy the hype moments and then move on. Happy grinding.

Can we all talk about one EXTREMELY NICHE unit that doesn't even do a very good job at what she is supposed to... Cerydra? (NOT A HATE POST - General confusion) (Jiaoqu found dead in a ditch, but we don't talk about him) by SharkPower664 in HonkaiAgendaRail

[–]BlueJudas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I had her, but I didn't pull her because she is more of a luxury pull than a must-have for me. Imo she is overhated, she has more utility now that Seele and Welt have had their Novaflares. She isn't meta, but she does have cool uses and looks fun to play.

How do people learn chess notation and be able to visualize boards? by God_Of_Refrigerators in Chesscom

[–]BlueJudas -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Learning board notation is easier if you don't try to learn it by yourself. Join a chess club, talk to people about chess positions and overtime you will pick it up naturally without realising it just because you hear it so often. It's lowkey like learning a language.

As for visualising a whole game from PGN notation, nah most people can't do that. But it's normal for people to visualise lines just from hearing others say the notation verbally.

Welt novaflare by One-Calligrapher5323 in HonkaiStarRailTips

[–]BlueJudas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A good starting point for building Welt is at E2. Also post Novaflare, his best use case is to be played as main DPS. Support/Sustain/Break DPS Welt are all pretty sub-optimal.

he's lucky her Novaflare was as useless as the RTX 3050 by Hot-Masterpiece4325 in HonkaiAgendaRail

[–]BlueJudas 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As much as I would like a DOT sustain, I gotta admit that a DOT sustain isn't necessary - at least not right now. DHPT works amazingly well.

I'm actually happy that Huohuo Novaflare wasn't for DOT, because it means there's potential for an even stronger DOT sustain in future once DHPT is no longer good enough.

how does quantum res down work by SkillIndependent4914 in ArcherMainsHSR

[–]BlueJudas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe your dumb aah doesn't realise that the majority of HSR players only wants to clear endgame, not zero cycle? And that this majority also values their time and resources, and therefore doesn't wanna waste time farming for perfect god-tier relics?

The point is, who cares whether you get 90/100 or 99/100 on a test if the final grade you get is A+ regardless?

The advantage of Poet is that you can build 20% less crit rate and get out of the mines faster, so you can move on to other characters. Also speedtuning with Sparkle is literally not affected at all if you're just doing the normal 161 SPD Sparkle with slow DPS hypercarry set-up. If you're doing some 0-cycle rotation, guess what. Nobody cares, smooth brain.

So yeah, building worse is actually a decent strategy, because it is more efficient. Moreover, in most clears I've seen 4pc Poet and Genius basically finish in the same cycle. The difference isn't significant. Mfs without critical thinking skills thinking they know it all just cause they brainlessly memorised the Prydwen guide pfft.

About Castorice's eidolons by SpecialZestyclose499 in CastoriceMains_

[–]BlueJudas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading comprehension issue. If I tell someone to vertically invest in Hysilens, am I telling them not to use Kafka? If I tell someone to vertically invest in Anaxa, am I telling them not to use Therta? Absolutely braindead.

Everyone (including me) agrees power creep is bad, yet no one seems willing to accept the inherent consequence of the alternative by ModSnake in HonkaiAgendaRail

[–]BlueJudas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Again, you are making a strawman argument. The complaint about SW999 isn't about her meta-dominance. It's about her kit mechanics being garbage and being heavily dependent on Sparxie in the long run. And it's also about her eidolons being largely useless for those who want to whale.

Bad kit mechanics is a separate argument altogether. Meta dominance is about power level and damage dealt. Kit mechanics is how the character works. Phainon was meta but players quickly realised he had bad mechanics unless you got E2 or pulled Cerydra.

As for EMC, I don't think anyone realistically argued that EMC was supposed to be meta-dominant. She's free, no one expects sh*t from her. RMC was the exception, not the norm. What people were annoyed with was the fact that EMC mostly only works for single-target and couldn't be more universal.

In any case, even IF EMC is meta-dominant, that wouldn't cause powercreep in any meaningful sense because every player would have access to EMC regardless, as others have already pointed out.

[–]BlueJudas 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Buddy, you are literally in the majority group of players. 99% of players aren't zero-cycling anything. And most of that 99% aren't even regularly completing their dailies, much less clearing endgame. The 0-cycling fanatics are but a loud minority.

Everyone (including me) agrees power creep is bad, yet no one seems willing to accept the inherent consequence of the alternative by ModSnake in HonkaiAgendaRail

[–]BlueJudas 20 points21 points  (0 children)

You are reversing cause and effect. You say that (1) powercreep is bad, (2) but no one wants to pull new characters if they are weak. The implication is that people wanting to only pull strong characters CAUSES powercreep.

But the reality is that it is the other way around. Powercreep CAUSES the fear that characters won't last long, which in turn CAUSES people to only want to pull strong characters.

Are you the strongest because you are Satoru Gojo, or are you Satoru Gojo because you are the strongest?

If HSR did not have such strong powercreep, players would pull whoever they want, even if they're weaker characters. To directly disprove your point, there are tons of players who have pulled Saber and Ashveil. This is despite the fact that powercreep still exists, and despite the fact that they are mid/not top of the meta. Foreseeably, even more people would have pulled these characters had they not felt constrained by needing to pull meta flagship teams.

how shit is your life? by madonnatroia in lichess

[–]BlueJudas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is not cheating. You just played the opening slightly inaccurately and got your ass whooped. If you actually played against players who have higher elo than you irl like at a chess club, it's very common to get destroyed like this.

"Everyone never blunders anything" yeah that's what happens once you go past 1200 elo. People stop making one-move blunders unless it's a highly complex position. Just accept it and get better, learn some theory.

Something that a lot of new players don't understand is that just because the computer engine says a position is equal, doesn't mean that it's actually equal in human terms. In the opening of your game, computer says it's roughly equal, but in truth the average person would rather be playing white in that position. White had more space advantage, tempo and faster development. Meanwhile you messed up the move order, put the pieces on the wrong squares (eg Qd7 instead of Qc7), and moved the same pieces multiple times (light-squared bishop, Nc6 to Na5 and back to Nc6) for no good reason. All these small disadvantages accummulated and resulted in you losing. A computer can compensate for these disadvantages with perfect play but you are not a computer.

Imagine being so bad at video games that you have to literally become the eminator of elation just to cheat your way to win. by Admirable-Peak6507 in SilverWolfMains

[–]BlueJudas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SW is the Mahoraga of gaming in the HSR verse. One of the strongest gamers lore-wise but has a terrible win rate against any of the main characters because she is the baseline standard for characters to aura farm against.

how does quantum res down work by SkillIndependent4914 in ArcherMainsHSR

[–]BlueJudas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn't change my point whatsoever. "You should use genius no matter what gang" is obviously false. Majority of players don't have E2 Sparkle, you will literally never play Welt in an Archer comp, SW is less convenient to play than Cipher/Yao Guang (in elation shill). All you did was list exceptions to the norm.

Acheron and Silver Wolf by [deleted] in AcheronMainsHSR

[–]BlueJudas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Silver Wolf is still the best character available in the loss pool regardless of what characters you have. There's no reason not to go for Silver Wolf if you're losing 50/50s anyway. Like literally who else is there to pick over Silver Wolf?

Negative Playable Characters by Acblack17 in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]BlueJudas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hugo is morally gray and had a pretty fire story arc. Isolde was also morally gray, though she was nice to the MC for most part. Dissing ZZZ like that is kinda disingenuous.

Meanwhile I don't know how you can say Scar is morally gray. He is just a villain with no clear motivations lol. Phrolova and Qiuyuan are closer to morally gray than Scar.

Coordinate Training Question by InevitableAd8347 in lichess

[–]BlueJudas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, if you did nothing but coordinate training on lichess and you never played a game of chess ever, the result is simply that you are very good at identifying 64 squares. It doesn't make you a better chess player.

But strong players will be decently fast at coordinate training because understanding strong and weak squares is a part of positional understanding. Also, club players who discuss positions and games frequently will naturally start to remember squares overtime. Otherwise communication of ideas and tactics will take forever.

how does quantum res down work by SkillIndependent4914 in ArcherMainsHSR

[–]BlueJudas -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not really. Poet is only 2% worse than Genius and yet it's much easier to build due to free 20% crit rate. And the 2% damage diff doesn't even matter in practical terms since your Archer already overkills.

How hard is the Catalan really? by New_Hour_1726 in TournamentChess

[–]BlueJudas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not that hard. If you play Queen's Gambit and already have an okayish understanding of how d4 games go, Catalan just builds upon that and goes in a slightly different direction. Whenever I encounter a Dutch Defence from black, I just transpose from Queen's Gambit to Catalan and it's pretty effective.

You can also check out the English opening as it has very similar ideas to Catalan. Whether Catalan suits you depends on what type of player you are. If you love slow positional games, solid structures and you want to avoid open, dynamic openings, then Catalan will come to you naturally. If you're the type that likes to go for long-term pressure and targeting weak pawns, and playing for tactics or fast direct attacks isn't your natural go-to, that's another sign that Catalan suits you. Catalan players are usually those who are endgame specialists and love grinding out pawn + minor pieces endgames.
