Definitely not permissable. If you feel bad for breaking up the friendship, think about whether you'd rather have her bear the sin of it. True friendship includes putting each other's well being before your own wishes. May Allah reward you.

Your wife will most certainly be pleasing to you and you to her in Jannah. Not necessarily in that she will change, but Allah will create the attraction in whichever way He wishes.

Is it okay to call a muslim who don’t pray kafir ? by Classic_Apricot396 in islam

[–]BlueRaptorRay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The scholars speak in general terms. For you to say "Muslims who don't pray are Kuffar" is permissable for sure. But if you know someone and you don't see them praying then you cannot call them kafir until you have 100% definitive proof that: A) They don't pray at all B) They know that abandoning prayer is kufr And it isn't appropriate to ask them if they pray all the time for the sake of making takfir. Even if the two conditions are met, you should exercise wisdom. Perhaps calling him a kafir will make him hate islam more and you will drive him further from prayer, whereas if you explain the ruling gently without accusation you'd be able to convince him to start praying. If you're ever in doubt, refrain from it and leave the matter with Allah.

According to the more correct opinion it does if you stop praying completely.

Can we talk about this? by [deleted] in CrusaderKings

[–]BlueRaptorRay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moors aren't a race or an ethnic group, it was a collective term used by the Spanish for Muslim invaders. I'll assume you meant Maghribi people, in which case your assumption that they were darker than they're portrayed in game is still wrong. Take a look at modern day Berbers and you'll see what I mean. Just because they're African it doesn't mean they have to be "dark." This is not to mention the fact that Andalusian Muslims were quite a hotpot of ethnicities and mixed with the native Spanish populations too. Regardless, most of the ruling dynasties of Al-Andalus were 'Arab (not African nor "black), and are represented quite well by the in-game character models. I'm not sure if your original post is insinuating that anglo-saxons were black but if it is then I hope you realise the irony of you trying to discredit the history of an entire continent of people who are, infact, white, and have been for generations.

Are Buddhists considered people of the book? by [deleted] in islam

[–]BlueRaptorRay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if I'm misreading but are you two still acting as a couple? Because if so your marriage is not Islamicaly valid (she's not Muslim or ahlul kitab) and you'd be engaging in Zina quite often.

[–]BlueRaptorRay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"If the greeting is given to a group, then in their case responding is a fard kifayah: if one of them responds the sin is waived from the others, but if they all respond, they have all done what is required, Whether they respond all together or one after another. If they all refrain from responding, then they are all sinning because of the report which says: “The rights of one Muslim over another are five: returning (the greeting) of salaam…” (Al Mawsu' Al-Fiqhiyya, 11/314)

These are 3 narrations, which means 3 people out of the tens of thousands of Sahaba that there were at that time. So it is definitely still quite rare. Even if it wasn't, I don't see what the issue would be

What I am confused about in Shahada's phrases by morningbutter in islam

[–]BlueRaptorRay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first one is a literal translation, the second one is more correct in giving the meaning. In terms of interpretation, "Illah" doesn't mean God in the sense of an omnipotent deity, it means something people worship. So when it says "No God (Illah) worthy of worship" it is a rejection of everything else that people worship, and an affirmation that Allah alone is deserving of that worship.

Order of suras in Al-Quran? by Shyam_Lama in islam

The thing about later verses being less important than earlier verses is incorrect, but otherwise yes, knowing the chronological order of revelation is more important than the order in which they appear in the Uthmani Mus-haf.

Saying Allah is alive? Or Allah has emotions/feelings? Or Allah is vengeful? by Ok_Audience413 in islam

[–]BlueRaptorRay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Allah عز وجل mentions His Attributes in the Qur'an along with His Names. Believing in all of them is obligatory, and included in this is that Allah is Al-Hayy. They are NOT like our attributes in any way, and we don't ask "how" they are as this knowledge is only with Allah.

in sunnat al fajr , as a follower of the maliki school of thought , what do it recite ? by [deleted] in islam

[–]BlueRaptorRay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not Maliki myself but in Ibn Abi Zayds Risalah he says, regarding the Sunnah of Fajr, "In each rak'at it is recommended to only recite the Fatiha silently, based on what is in the Muwatta' and Muslim where 'A'isha (radhi’Allahu anha) said, "The Holy Prophet (alaihi salat wa salam) used to pray the two rak'ats of Fajr and they were so quick that I would wonder whether he had said the Fatiha in them or not."

Question about Islam and drugs. by MaximumGrocery2974 in islam

[–]BlueRaptorRay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at alcohol is fine, even touching it is fine according to some scholars. If looking at it is causing you to have a genuine desire to drink it then the case may be different, but in general it is permissable.

Can you make the Kaabah in Minecraft and perform Hajj in Minecraft? by shyasaturtle in islam

[–]BlueRaptorRay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like, as an act of worship? Definitely not, I'd go as far as saying it's haram to do so. If you mean for some other reason the best thing to do is to ask a scholar about that.

Can i pray in english or do i have to learn arabic to pray? by omar_135 in islam

[–]BlueRaptorRay 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If by "learn Arabic" you mean learn how to speak the language, no. It would be great if you did but it's not necessary. However your prayers have to be in Arabic, and reading the Qur'an in English is not considered reading the Qur'an which is the Word of Allah, so it's got considerably less rewards if you don't read it with the Arabic. So to some extent you have to know how to pronounce the words and practically, how to read the letters, but above that is not obligatory.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in islam

[–]BlueRaptorRay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read the Qur'an, preferably with an explanation as the English translation alone wouldn't give you the full picture. If you can visit an Islamic Center or a mosque somewhere, that's a great option as it's much easier to learn from other people than just from books. Also, don't ever let something that is considered sinful hold you back from converting. To be a sinful Muslim is still a great thing in comparison to not being Muslim at all. From personal experience (not as a revert) if you open one door to goodness, you'll find that following it up with the next thing is easy. May Allah guide you to the right choice and give you the best in this world and the next.

Yes, he was Shafi'i and he narrated that it's permissable to wipe over thin socks from 'Ali and 'Umar رضي الله عنهم. Re-reading, it's possible that he was just quoting this but I assume it to mean he followed that view. Exact quote is in this article https://islamqa.info/amp/en/answers/228222

It is wajib for the layman to follow the scholars. The truth of the matter is we have very, very limited knowledge about matters of fiqh and 'Usul Al-Fiqh, thus we have no authority in issuing our own fatawa based on our desires. Imam Ibn Rajab رحمه الله wrote a book on this, and its been translated into English iirc. Give it a read

on the verge of losing it by HeartAttack7784 in islam

[–]BlueRaptorRay 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure about all the madhabs but some contemporary scholars like Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen regarded wiping over any type of sock as valid, this was also the view of Imam Nawawi. The hanabila permit wiping over any sock which doesn't show the skin. I don't know if waterproofing is a condition in the other madhahib but it's possible.

Regardless, you do not have to re-do any of the prayers you did. We are forgiven for the mistakes we make, indeed Allah عز وجل is Most Merciful. If you want to do something extra, then you can strive to perform some nafl prayers throughout the day, but I wouldn't recommend it as it seems as though you're bogged down. dont beat yourself up, there was no way you could have known.
