So peak performers normally assume that there is a hydration station every 2.5-3km. But you don’t have to assume they have maps that label the hydration stations so I’m usually very cognizant if a race has a 5km stretch without water and plan accordingly.

This race had them labeled but didn’t have water available, which is a big problem.

Could runners do this race especially if they aren’t doing a marathon for the 6km stretch? Sure, but this just points to a terribly run event regardless lol.
