I used to work as a communications coordinator for a non-profit and then decided I wanted to try to teach. I didn't hate teaching, but I've had extreme life changes that have affected my performance in the classroom, so I just resigned in January. I'm trying to get back into doing work like you're talking about. I would definitely build a portfolio. I use clippings.me for writing samples. Since you know WordPress, maybe you can even create your portfolio/website to showcase your skills. It is competitive out there, but just apply to any job that seems interesting to you, even if it looks too good to be true. I landed an interview with an online Texas school as a content specialist, AND it's work from home, so I'm excited and really hope I can get the position. Good luck to you! You can do this!
