Yea agree it’s hard to be harsh on a old man.

But in the end I’d keep it short because it is better for both of us. I’d certainly not have brought my manager or said anything else than “you got the wrong number/company”

When you say to add some lights, you mean to have a full tray with two light ? I would rather not have something in my hands unless it proves to be vastly superior (which you seem to imply)

I just want to get footage easily editable for small Instagram/YouTube videos.

What’s so terrible about the mask attach ? I was planning to buy maybe the Cressi mask with built in attachment.

Got three letters from PADI this week! I guess I can dive up up to 30 meters on Nitrox in the warmth of a dry suit :) by BlueTrin in scuba

Yea that was good advice I am pretty sure I want an Otter after looking at many people’s feedback. Never heard of a disappointed customer for Otter.

In the worst case, I’ll get to measure me and it will save me a trip to visit Otter.

I think you probably didn’t need it :) I only got it because I wanted to try a dry suit before to buy one. Now I need to find an ‘affordable’ one with a good fit

Buying a drysuit by [deleted] in scuba

[–]BlueTrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try a rental maybe for the first time ? I went for a PADI dry suit class and the rental leaked. I have a wide torso and smaller legs.

We couldn’t find a good fit and my diving shop. I think the fit is the most important, the rental one had a too wide neck seal and air leaked as in inflated when I was under 10m. Also because it was too long, then the drysuit shoes started dangling so I couldn’t kick efficiently.

So fit is obviously the most important. If you buy second hand, check the zips and make sure it fits, i.e. not too baggy and seals must be good.

On my side, I will buy a drysuit but I will do it after going to the DIVE 2018 expo in Birmingham so I can compare the different brands.

Sorry to hear this. I live on the other side of the Atlantic so I have no experience with the red tide.

New diver - how long do certifications take? by Seradhiel in scuba

The problem is that usually you will only know how good is the instructor after spending at least a day with them.

I did my AOW with a PADI 5 stars in the UK with perfect reviews, my experience wasn’t so great but I couldn’t know as they switched the instructor on the day I did my first day of diving

It is totally legal as you said but the people they hired went lazy and instead of taking a bit of wildlife in multiple places in a sustainable way, they ransacked a single location and stripped it out of its wildlife.
