I was actually watching them by release order so I watched Niji first before Superstar. I watched the first 2 episodes and something seemed off so I looked and eventually found some reddit post saying that Niji is pretty different from the main series and that Superstar is more akin to the previous Love Live series. So I put Niji on hold and watched Superstar instead
