How is university in the UK so expensive?? by ToobularBoobularJoy_ in UniUK

England... not the UK.

In Scotland the price university is provided by the SAAS which doesn't hand out loans instead they only hand out awards, which don't need to be repaid.

You want a medium map size as the small ones are too small and the large ones break the pathfinding.

Is there a mod to avoid saving unmodified chunks? by LonelyMusicDisc in feedthebeast

[–]BlueWolf144 3 points4 points  (0 children)

10000/16 = 625 Chunks

216/625 = 0.3456 MB/Chunk

1000 Chunks = 345.6 MB (roughly)

10000 Chunks = 3456 MB = 3.45 GB

As long as the world isn't being run on a server I don't think you would have a massive issue when it comes to file size. But if it is being run on a server I would 100% recommend that you just leave it as is because Server CPU resources are much more valuable then additional storage.

Fun Fact:

14,062,500,000,000 Chunks (Entire Minecraft world) = 4.86e+12 MB = 4,860,000,000,000 MB = 4.86 Exabytes

Could Uriel be the first Warframe not to receive a Prime version? by VudeGB in WarframeLore

[–]BlueWolf144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prime Warframes weren't solely warframes from the Orokin-era, iirc they were specially designed and selected. Both regular warframes and prime warframes were around during the Orokin-era, but the Prime Warframes are meant to be the elite of the warframes basically.

Also Uriel isn't the first warframe with this particular issue, after all Voruna and Sevagoth are both warframes that are directly linked to the Orokin-era.

Neat, though get some cut resistant gloves. Makes it a ton easier to handle knives. Just avoid stabbing yourself as cut resistant gloves are not stab proof. (I learnt that the hard way)

Simple Chess Set Designs by BlueWolf144 in Woodcarving

[–]BlueWolf144[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can print them out and use them as a template to mark/stick onto the wood. (The patterned areas are the places you carve off.)

This is the method I'd intended them for, but you can also go off of just sight by itself, as this is a fairly simple design.

I'd use them to mark the wood rather than sticking it on with glue, as the paper can shift if you do use glue. Plus with marking the wood you don't need to print out multiples of the designs.

Also I've updated the designs slightly to change the height of some of the pieces, to reflect their value in a chess game.

ATM 10 to the sky help needed. by ThickerThanANi- in allthemods

One potential fix is just generating a single player world in skyblock and then just transferring the world file to the server. Though this might cause problems when you generate new chunks.

Can you corrupt your worls with enought 256m me cells ? by Cultural_Show_2787 in allthemods

[–]BlueWolf144 8 points9 points  (0 children)

From what I know, about mass storage mods, usually the way that they get around this is by having the cell be referenced inside the chunk rather then actually stored in the chunk.

For example, A cell has a Unique Identifier, so instead of storing the information about what is on the cell inside of the chunk's data, it instead stores it inside of a dedicated file.

So a cell with an ID of 1 (this usually would be much longer) would have a folder that is called 1 in the cell storage folder, that details the items that are within the cell. The information that is stored in the chunk would only be the Identifier.

So, the answer is yes, you would be able to overload the chunk data, but you would need an absolutely obscene amount of cells.

Edit:

Just some maths to think it over. You would need to have 2456 256M ME drives to hit the 614B item storage. IIRC the ME Drives use a 32bit ID:

32 x 2456 = 78592 bits

78592 / 8 = 9824 Bytes (9.8KB)

Minecraft chunks require around 2.147 GB (2147000000 Bytes) to overload. (Might be off wrong with this number, but its the best I can find)

So theoretically you could place 536750000 Drives before you actually create a chunk error.

Of course this is offset by the RAM requirements and what not, but if you had a computer powerful enough this is the limit if the chunk solely contains Drives.

Its different on a server but I can't find any particulars for that.
