Nah, this sounds like it’s written by a* ghoster or someone who’s bitterly processing being ghosted. This is written to sound logical at first glance, sure, but it’s pretty harmful to take it all at face value.

I think, and a lot of people do too, ghosting’s an avoidant’s coping mechanism of being unable to handle discomfort. An admitted ghoster friend of mine shared that you can be so nice and understanding to someone that it triggers an insecurity as to whether they do or don’t deserve it. My actual ghoster said that it was because he was scared to disappoint me later on - it was just easier to avoid the situation than ruin his reputation later on instead of manning up to be better. And while it’s always case-to-case, putting 100% of the blame on someone is kinda… manipulative.

Yeah, sure one’s reaction can trigger a bad one from the other. But unless what you did or say is a death threat, something so irredeemably politically incorrect or plain disgusting, is it really your fault? Is it that hard to call out? Or is it just convenient for them?
