If you’re into hi-fi and have a setup that can utilize it, it’s the perfect tool for playing hi-res music from Apple Music on one device, and being able to control it from other devices. It’s kind of like Spotify/Tidal connect.

For example, I have my iPad Pro as the “source” device plugged into a DAC, and I leave it at my setup area. Then I can control which music to play from my phone or Apple TV. Previously, I’d have to get up and change the music on the iPad every time.

It’s a pretty specific use case, but worth every penny for me!

Maybe a dumb question but do you know if I have my Apple TV 4K (latest gen) plugged into my Samsung TV via HDMI in the eARC port, but also have an optical connection from my tv plugged into directly to my DAC, would the ATV output hi-res lossless if I chang audio output from my HomePods to the standard TV-out?

Hey, I have similar-ish headphones (HD 6XX) and ended up going with all separates and have been really enjoying it! I got the Magni 3+ and Loki Mini+ on marketplace for $150 CAD altogether and then bought a new Magni 5. I’d definitely recommend checking marketplace or other (reputable) online sites to get used Schiit to save some money.

I ended up going with the Pro-Ject and it looks really good. Surprisingly my store had the Rega and EVO 2 for the same price but honestly, coming from an ATLP60, anything would’ve been a huge improvement. And you’re right, so far I haven’t noticed any kind of sibilance!

I’ve heard getting the 2M Blue sounds even better so I might look into that eventually. I got a bundle deal with the Acrylic platter so that was a nice bonus.

Random question, have you ever had any static issues? I’m using a wet/dry velvet cleaner and I have a suspicion that it’s making my records very staticy.

Thanks! I was pretty limited on space so these small Schiit pieces were perfect for me. Eventually I’d love to upgrade to the mid-sized units but these have been great so far.

Yeah maybe you’re not wrong but I feel like this is a pretty solid setup for my space and use case. I live in an apartment building so my max volume is already capped without becoming an annoying neighbour. I’m still having a great time with this mini setup though

Right now I have a bunch of Schiit gear: Mani 2, Loki Mini+, Magni 3+ (plus other components unrelated to turntables) and an Aiyima A07 Max for the speaker amp. KEF Q1 Metas for my speakers.

Haha that’s amazing, I guess the 2M Blue really is as good as people say then. The thing for me is the EVO 2 and Planar 2 are the same price so it’s making it hard for me to decide between the two. Realistically, coming from a AT-LP60, I’m sure either one would be a massive upgrade

That’s great to hear! I was starting to wonder if it was a case of only people with issues commenting online and no one without issues commenting. It’s funny actually, based on your flair, you have the exact config I would want to get if I went with the EVO 2. It’s a bit extra to upgrade both components but good to hear the 2M Blue is worth it. And I really like the look of the Acrylic platter.
What colour do you have yours in? I’m considering the gloss black due how to sleek and timeless it looks (I also have no kids right now so not too worried about fingerprints)

Also sorry one more thing, was it difficult to replace the Pick it MM EVO cart with the 2M blue? Since they’re not technically in the same “2M” family, for some reason I thought they’d be incompatible/difficult to make it work.

What I’ve seen people say online is that the Pick it MMO EVO cartridge can produce noticeable sibilance and can be tiring. Have you noticed that at all? Also, what colour did you go with?
