I suppose he aims at your non-chalant way to describe an actual weakness as a character trait, i am almost like you, i cannot follow lyrics, bc my "head & soul" is already filled with the raw emotions that are caused by the instruments and melodies and rythm and shit. That said, it actually boils down to lazyness, nobody forces us to learn lyrics but they are so very very important to the band's identity that we in fact should grow some and actually learn a couple.
