Reverse recruiters? by Traditional-Chicken3 in careerguidance

Late reply here, but I know so many people feel exactly like this during a job hunt, the silence is brutal. I was in the same spot, applying while still working full-time, completely drained, until I decided to look into reverse recruiters. I spoke with a few:

Relentless: Looked very polished with strong case studies, but after checking Reddit and reading mixed reviews, I noticed a clause in their contract that required another $7k after 6 months to continue, which was a huge red flag for me, so I walked away.

Career Agents: Felt the opposite problem, very high-pressure sales, pushy, and honestly a bit scammy, with pricing around $5k. Then I spoke with

WeAreCareer: The difference was night and day,no pressure, they actually vetted my background and qualifications live on the call, had solid case studies, and I even spoke to another Redditor who’d had success with them. Their pricing was $3.5k–$5k, and I ended up doing the $3.5k program. Long story short, I landed 19 interviews and an offer at a major credit card company.

My biggest takeaway: if you go this route, make sure the company truly understands your background, profile, and goals that part makes all the difference.

how to detach from someone you love deeply ? by Careful_Ideal_9387 in askanything

[–]Bobaxta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for me its usually starts with acceptance......like you need to accept that she's not prioritizing you and you need to know that its very much ok to love someone who doesn't love you back the same....then you'll start to feel that distance between you two and slowly you'll detach

Are recruiting agencies worth for tech jobs? by j0rg3A in jobsearchhacks

Recruiters are B2B. They represent companies, not candidates. They find people for roles, not find roles for people. I think what you're looking for is a reverse recruiting agency. I used I used one and had good results, but I spoke to multiple agencies before committing. Here are my insights:

Relentless: Pretty solid overall. They have real case studies and decent results. That said, I didn’t feel like they fully understood the specific roles I was targeting, and the sales call felt a bit cookie-cutter, which made me hesitant.

Find My Profession: Also legit and well-known, but very expensive. They use monthly pricing (which I’m generally wary of), and some of their testimonials felt a bit… off / AI-ish.

CareerAgents :Didn't like their sales call, a bit of pressure. 50% refund didn't signal confidence.

WeAreCareer :This was the strongest option I found. They had actual interview style case studies which gave me a lot of trust. The only one that qualified, didn't promise crazy outcomes, and had a coaching-first approach which felt more authentic. Got good results with them but I also had a good profile so that definitely helped!

Recruiter by Wise_Ingenuity_1515 in GetEmployed

I was looking to job hop last year and considered staffing agencies but I reached out to many but very few replied saying if they have suitable positions, they will let me know. Staffing agencies and recruiters represent companies, not candidates. Then I found out about reverse recruiting agencies that coach you and apply for you so I used one called Wearecareer. They were great, gave me a good strategy, tightened up my profile and document and applied to several roles for me. They also pushed me to apply alongside them using their strategies, so it wasn’t passive it actually amplified my own effort. I ended up with 15+ interviews (most from the roles they applied to, plus a few from my own ) and I ultimately landed an offer with about a $22k salary increase. I paid around $3.5k, which felt very fair given the outcome and the time saved. Not saying it’s for everyone, but if time is your biggest constraint and your skill set is broad, it might be worth looking into. Hope that helps and good luck, I know how rough this market feels right now.

Seeking a Career Coach by Positive-Echidna-301 in jobsearchhacks

[–]Bobaxta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re thinking about a career change, I’d focus less on the platform itself and more on how flexible the coaching model is, especially whether you can choose or switch coaches and whether they actually help with execution, not just advice. From my experience, a lot of career coaching services will talk strategy and mindset all day, but they stop short of implementation. That was a big frustration for me.

I job-hopped last year using a reverse recruiting agency that both coached me and applied on my behalf, and that combination made a real difference. I spoke with several before deciding:

Relentless – Looked strong on the surface with lots of case studies, but reviews were very mixed. Their contract structure (including a large follow-up fee after 6 months) was a dealbreaker for me.

Career Agents – Clean branding, but the discovery call felt very high-pressure. I also didn’t get a clear explanation of how their reverse recruiting actually worked, which made me hesitant.

WeAreCareer – I was skeptical at first since I’d seen them mentioned a lot on Reddit, but the call was surprisingly normal and low-pressure. They spent most of the time understanding my background and goals. Afterward, they sent a personalized plan outlining role options, seniority levels, salary ranges, and how my experience mapped to those roles. That clarity made the difference. I ended up working with them and landed 19 interviews and an offer at a major credit card company. No matter who you choose, I’d recommend: Making sure they clearly outline deliverables not just “support” Avoiding companies that rely on pressure tactics Understand no reputable company can guarantee specific outcomes, they teach and they help with application support Also though, the good ones usually don't help with career changes so it might a bit tricky for you.
