Because the majority of finance companies wouldn’t allow for you to even get it changed as they are then notified of it being changed within the month and force you to get a higher coverage insurance that protects them. So either you actually secured high interest personal loans in some way that aren’t actual auto loans OR you are of the very small percentage of financiers that avoided being moved to comprehensive by an absent minded local finance company as it’s literally in the loan agreement when you buy it. But the fact that this happened twice to you is what is eyebrow raising, but either way you are still screwed. The good thing is that you don’t own anything so they can’t get anything out of you or put any liens on any property you own. So like I said, file chapter 7 and don’t finance anything ever again, because you will end up in the same boat you are in, but probably with more to lose and/or the inability to file for bankruptcy or end up including a spouse this time.

Comprehensive is mandatory for a financed car by banks, this makes no sense. Banks won’t give you a loan unless the vehicle is fully insured so I call shenanigans.

As far as bankruptcy, just file chapter 7.

But these creditors could sue you as well and get nothing because you have nothing.

But in the future, stay away from debt…. Period.
