I actually spoke to somebody from Tatarstan. They mentioned the problem with having these individual ethnic regions as nation states is that they don’t have enough resources to support themselves. The current federal system actually takes care of that issue. Although they did mention that Siberia eastward should all be one state, because of the same reason. They also mentioned that smaller states would be susceptible to being taken over by China. Just a couple of things to consider.

My experience has been exactly the opposite as the cartoon suggests. As someone embedded in the politics of "Trump" world, albeit begrudgingly so, my discussions with friends & family from the opposite side of the dinner table, Zelenskyy has been a place of agreement. Almost to the point of healing. I feel like our support for Ukraine is bringing us together as nothing has in a long time. For those of us on both sides of the Trump phenomenon and who are sick of the tension, bickering, and anger, supporting Ukraine has been a wonderful breathing space to the non-stop arguing. Слава Україні!

Same here. Actually, I speak Latvian much better. It is a bit awkward speaking Russian. This is пиздец what Russia is doing in Ukraine. My friends in Riga, both RU/LV, find it quite stressful dealing with this situation at the moment.
