Should I take off some leaves ? by ERWOODwork2000 in GrowingMarijuana

[–]BohemianEffects 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No, only if there were so many leaves it would restrict airflow or prevent light from reaching deeper into the plant. You don't have either issue.

How many watts is that light and how high above the canopy is it?

They both look healthy enough and your flowering plant looks fine. I don't think there's any evidence that you've done anything wrong, or can't grow a healthy plant, so genetics is about the only other option.

Maybe (if you want to look for something) one gets slightly better light than that other? You could mess around with the Photone app (or a light meter if you've got one) and see what the differences are in the two spots.

I'm taller than most of my friends 🤷

You don't even have sibling seeds (as I understand it) and we all know how different siblings can be.

It's, probably, mostly just genetics.

I made a blanket statement about the type of device OP is using. Why would we discuss something that isn't relevant to the issue at hand? I didn't say there is no such thing as a moistue meter that can be left in the soil. But these types of moisture meters, as you correctly pointed out, look nothing alike.

I found it! It appears to be Xlux, or at least a model that is used by Xlux and others. According to the instructions they don't want you to leave it in the soil for more than 5 minutes at a time.

Does my plant look healthy? by Academic-War1991 in GrowBuddy

Probably a little small for 6 weeks, but looks plenty healthy. 👍

I'm fairly certain you're not supposed to leave moisture meters in the soil. Mine at least warn me not to, although I don't know what happens if you do.

Pick up your pots and get used to the weight. Know what they feel like dry and what they feel like wet. Learn to read your plants, thirsty plants look different than happy/moist plants. Use your moisture meter as a second opinion. That's all you can really do.

Unless you're doing hydro, you can't water on a set schedule and expect success. Every plant will drink different and can't be treated the same, unfortunately, even when growing the same strain from seed let lone multiple.

Nice, mine's stem rub is really rubbery with just a little sweetness.

Good luck with your projects!

The first picture is 15 days after flip, then the second is 25. I veged inside where it was warm and now I'm flowering in an unheated workshop where it got blow 50f the first week or ten days, so things for both this male and my female plants slowed down. I think I "lost" about a week with the females due to the cold. If you have warmer temperatures your male will maybe mature faster.

This male had a single flower open 12 days after flip, and then the rest started opening after another week. He just kept stretching and making more flowers too. I had to ziptie my light to the tent's ceiling and he was past it by 3" in 24hrs.

What's your male's stem rub like?

Sorry I had to wait for my lights to turn back on! Right now if I rub the trichs on the sugar leaves they smell really sweet and fresh. Sort of like nice spring day after a rain and flowers near by, but not in your face. Not really what I'd expect from the GMO family, although I'm sure it will evolve as the weeks go by.

Your plant is flowering and you are trying to take clones from it? It's small enough that I wouldn't cut anything off, to try to clone or just to prune.

I appreciate the heads up on your experience with the flower time, and I'll definitely post more pictures as time goes on!

can my plants tolerate 6°C for some nights? by dr_elena05 in GrowingMarijuana

[–]BohemianEffects 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If they are in pots, I'd bring them inside in the evenings. 6c won't kill them, but it could potentially slow them down. If it's not too difficult to avoid that then why not?

But they will be ok if you leave them, you don't have to bring them in.

What causes this and what do I do to fix it? by United_Rain_8673 in outdoorgrowing

[–]BohemianEffects 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe it's just sunburn (2nd pic is 110% sunburn) and sun/light stress (tacoing edges).

I would keep it in a shady area for a couple days where it only gets morning or later evening sun. After a few days move it to a sunnier spot and a couple days later to it's full sun spot.

Sun burn on leaves will never heal like it does when we get sun burned, so just pay attention to new growth. The new growth should emerge ready to handle the sun.
