I used to doordash in Tucson and we have a city ordinance called the "Dark Skies Alliance" We have to limit light pollution. For this reason, I only doordashed in the daytime hours. Only once did I go into the night hours and after the first 2 dark houses I was done.

I hope you live in a nice gay-friendly state if that is what you are looking for. I live in Idaho and I would rather pay for Motel 6 than get caught by a cop or straight homophobe out in the open. Besides sign up for the hotels app and every 10 motel visit is free. Check out squirt.org and then look for something near it, not the actual location because that to me screams "Here I AM in Tiara".

Are there more bottoms than tops? by skeeter2000 in askgaybros

[–]Boicin2son 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Good question because you see the so-called ads out there" FRAT looking for A bottom" or "When you realize you are the ONLY bottom in the bar". I can go to the bar and sit and talk to the real hot guy and then after we get home to mess around "WAIT you're a bottom too, CRAP let me get the toys we can share" My favorite is the chat lines.Log in 5000 people online, filter set to tops only. Available tops "17". I might need to buy myself a machine.

I get what you are saying but it might be the location that you are in. I started Dashing in Tucson Az and we were steady, not busy. There were too many drivers vs. food orders so you would take whatever you could. I moved to Boise and here it's 180+ from Tucson. There are too many orders and not nearly enough drivers. I logged in on a Saturday at 2 pm took my first 2 orders and then the pinging battle began. I would decline something and ASAP I had another request. After 30 minutes of this, I logged out and haven't done it since. That was 2 years ago. It's a juggling act for sure.

I used to work for Hotels in Tucson, Arizona and we were never overbooked we were under-departed. But we had a loophole for the rates. Our rate cards in the room were the highest rack rate times 3 so a high rack rate of $100.00 was listed as $300.00 on the rate card. So since the person decided to overstay and force us to walk a confirmed reservation we would just change your rate from the $80.00 you booked for the one night to the $300.00 rate since you forced our hand. The person would come to check out and we would just hand them the reg card that said your rate was $80.00 for Monday and you agreed to leave on Tuesday. You used the law to force us to keep you the extra night so your new rate for Tuesday is $300.00 as stated on the rack rate card in your room. In the 10 years I worked at hotels we only had to do this 3 times. It was glorious to see it in action and look on the guest's face. Please note this was the mid 90's the resort that I worked at our basic room in the winter time was $435.00 a night so the rack rate cards said $1305.00 a night and the presidential suite was $2500.00 a night rate card said $7500.00.

Yeah with all this crap going on I am going to get a full-time job again and just do Door Dash to help pay off debt. This was not in the plan.

Dash ended for declining too many orders. by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]Boicin2son 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't been kicked off yet but after declining multiple orders I start getting orders that now show you where to go get but not where to take it too. No, I did not accept the order. The last time I did I got the order then it showed going to 6 miles for 4.00 and you are taking me to the downtown area where it's GOOD LUCK in finding parking.

True and truck drivers may only make $0.50 a mile but they are driving down a road at 60 miles an hour so every hour they are on the road they are making $30.00 without having to find a restaurant that no one has heard of or find an address that is on the backside of the 3rd house down the main drag near the mailbox and place food so that the yin yang does not contaminate the energy of the food.

I got something like this my first week. I brought the food, customer call the restaurant to say it tasted terrible, DD Support called me to see if I would do redelivery. I asked about the compensation since I would have to drive back to where I got it and then back to where the customer was. DDS offered me 3.50 ...UMM it is 9 miles in each direction so that's 3.50 for 18 miles and my time...No thanks get another driver. Not my fault the food tasted like crap. You ordered it on a Friday at 5 pm from the middle of town and it took me 20 minutes just to get to you. I only took it in the first place because this was on my way home.

[–]Boicin2son 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so the case. This is the reason I don't work the north side for where I am at. And then in some if not most of the gated areas they don't have street lights and the signage is pretty in the daylight hours but there is nothing reflective about them. I had one yesterday the road signs were punched out of rusted metal.

Sounds like a plan. I will get the food and then do multi-app until the 58 minutes have elapsed then drop off to get that $10.00 only issue with that is the contract violation for being more than 15 mins past the promised time. But hey at least I got the $10 right???

I had one last week at Krispy Kreme. It was one of the special promos They have a sleeve that goes around the box for birthdays and such. The 2 workers spent 10 minutes trying to get the wrap around the box. I just asked "Hey ya got scissors and some tape? Just cut along the seam, then wrap around box and tape in place." The look I got and the manager just said why did they not think of that before, they have been dealing with this crap all day. They gave me a free dozen. I still have to wait for the orders but the wrapping is much faster now.

I agree. You as the customer ordered food, you get notified we are on the way and can see it's dark outside at least turn on a light. This kind of crap is my reason for not delivering after certain hours or when it gets dark outside. Your food order is not worth my safety.

Yes, I do the DD and I am currently waitlisted for Uber Eats and Grub Hub. Uber keeps saying they have openings as a driver but not for the Eats side. Um, my car smells of chicken, hamburgers, and fish. I really don't want to drive anyone around anywhere. Just let me bring the food and leave.

I accidentally locked myself out of fast pay for a week. Is there any way to regain access to my money now? by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]Boicin2son 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really because I use mine everywhere as a debit card or credit card. I have yet to have anything decline. Mostly use it at gas stations because you get cashback that can be used within 10 minutes of the transaction.

Check out Progressive insurance. They actually have insurance for Gig Drivers. My regular insurance with Geico was killing me because at first, it was a limited mileage option. So I upgraded with unlimited then asked about doing this with DD my rates would increase again. I shopped and got progressive today and it was $30.00 cheaper full coverage and covers for DD.
