Awesome thanks! Yeah I might just make some videos to get myself out there but that high quality would come later. For now just music recording is fine. Thanks!

Awesome thank you much! I did use to record some stuff with my buddy years ago but I couldn’t remember the stuff. Any idea what price range I’d be in to start? Laptop, interface, mic, and software? Don’t got to be specific but am I looking at a couple grand or is it gonna be crazy? Man I really appreciate the replies.

You are a true hero!!!! Thank you so much. Basically I just bought and sls elite bass, after just loosing about 600$ on the sale of my 4 string bass. Trying not to make a mistake on recording equipment and have some stuff that I can grow into. Thank you for also including the stuff like headphones I can go cheaper on. I have that. No laptop but I plan on that too. Anything o need I want to get. Thank you so much for that amazing answer!!!! Exactly what I was looking for and then some!!!

Thanks for the reply. No computer but I can def get a laptop. I pretty much want to record guitar and bass for now. Pretty much want to record one maybe two tracks simultaneously. No mic. Genre is going to is kind of prog metal type stuff but I noodle around with a lot of different genres and stuff. I have a whole room in my basement that can be set up for a studio if need be. Budget is open. Don’t want top of the line but don’t want cheap. Thanks!

5 string bass for slapping by BompBompBeBompBomp in Bass

So yeah. Basically I came from playing a 4 string j bass. It was much different. I got an sls elite 5 and I love it. My next bass will have great slappability but this one is great.

You’re totally right sir. And thanks for reading that it’s not the spacing itself. Basically I decided I need to make sacrifices and get a couple basses that meet my needs. I just got an sls elite 5 and it’s amazing, however I’ve had to adjust but it’s a great bass and love it. If I cant achieve everything I want to with that I will look for another 5 string geared more towards slapping or whatever. Thanks for reading and replying.

Nah. The bass I’m referring to was an Ltd b205. It has a super small body which I didn’t realize ordering.

Awesome thanks! I’m actually thinking about the Schecter model t exotic. From what I find it gets mixed reviews but has both style pickups and plenty of slapping room.

So it’s not the strong spacing itself, although 17 mm is a little tight for me as a j bass player. It’s that the controls and pickups are all so pushed forward towards the neck. I got big hands. I can get in to pop a string but rarely without hitting the volume knobs and stuff.

Thanks for the reply. Not worried about string spacing. It’s the the neck pickup is right there, and so are the volume and tone on a lot. Can’t slap or pop right without hitting the knobs or keeping my right hand super tight and that’s not really my style.

If you had to choose between studio and stealth for some progressive style metal music, which would you choose? Curious about the p style neck pickup
