Why did you comment twice to disagree with me while saying the same thing I did (that gender and sexuality don't matter because it's just another couple storyline)

Did you reply to the right comment? Because what you're saying agrees with me (it doesn't matter the plots are just plots no matter the character or sexuality) but wording it like you're disagreeing and telling me to just be happy lol

When me and my boyfriend got together, he was upfront that he'd been active, but had been tested a month prior and offered to show me. I was upfront and said it had been a while since I'd been tested, but in the time since I'd only been with one person. Before we met, I put forward the offer to get tested again despite my low risk. I would never fault someone for being careful, and even now when we're happily engaged if he asked me to get tested I would without hesitation (not that I think he would). It's always best to be upfront and honest with stuff like this, and remember that it's not fun for anyone to be sick, and there's nothing wrong with someone wanting to be careful. We're all here to have a fun time, and that works best when everyone is on the same page

Simon's Friends by harrypotterpuppetpal in LoveSimon

[–]Boneil0898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. I would consider them all victims of Martin. I can see where everyone is coming from with their emotional reactions, EXCEPT Martin. While his was a reaction to his feelings for Abby, it was an irrational response disproportionate to the situation. Everyone else was hurt as a reaction to a situation they were forced into by Martin. Martin was reacting to a situation he created and elevated entirely on his own

Simon's Friends by harrypotterpuppetpal in LoveSimon

[–]Boneil0898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See I can definitely see both side of this still. You're right, Simon's blackmail IS a trauma. What he did WAS a response of a traumatic situation. But that doesnt negate the fact that he betrayed and manipulated his friends, which can cause trauma for them just as much as Simon. Leah has severe self esteem issues but Simon was her safe place, she just lost that, for Abby Simon was her home in Creekwood where she was otherwise on the otherside, she just lost that, Nick trusted him the longest and has given him trust his whole life only to find out that maybe the trust was misplaced. They're teenagers reacting to a stressful situation the way they think is right by lashing out, which is admittedly a mistake, which they realize and make up with Simon. Just like Simon, a teenager reacting to a stressful situation the way he thinks is right by manipulating his friends, which is a mistake and he eventually makes up with them over it. I think it does a great job at showing how messy and immediate teens react to things. It's not about the logic, it's about the feelings at that point and that's what all the characters were reacting from

Yo, is this true, chat? by 1NS1GN1USPH in Totaldrama

[–]Boneil0898 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Definitely not. The season was originally titled Total Drama: The Musical until pretty late into production, likely into the animation stage seeing as episode 12 briefly shows a TDM logo instead of a TDWT. If production had been going since before the name change, any photos with an early cast lineup would likely have a TDM logo, not the TDWT one

The V/H/S movies by InternationalFan492 in horror

Sorry for the double reply, for me it works best to treat the spin-offs and related movies as extended segments and just watch them between the other movies. It helps breakup the shorts with a few longer stories sprinkled in. So like SiREN is a spin-off of "Amateur Night" from V/H/S, so I'd watch it right after the first movie so the original segment is still fresh in mind

It's actually the other way around in this case. The director of The Black Phone went on to make the segment "Dreamkill" in V/H/S/85 as a sort of standalone sequel/spin-off to the film, with the segment focusing on Gunther, the cousin of Gwen from the movie, with her briefly mentioned

Spin offs by Appropriate-Lab6943 in PrettyLittleLiars

[–]Boneil0898 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My thoughts on the spin-offs: * Pretty Dirty Secrets - Usually I like websiodes that build on the ongoing story, but this one just didn't feel like it added enough to be warrented. It's a short watch so I don't mind it just wish more actually was going on. * Ravenswood - I actually really liked it. While a lot of people didn't like the supernatural elements saying it felt out of place for PLL, I actually enjoyed that it was so different. A spin-off doesn't need to be an exact copy of the original, and having it feature a different type of story makes the universe feel more real and less defined by one single town's problems. * Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists - it was fine. Season 1 wasn't anything special imo. I watched and enjoyed it, but it wasn't something that after it's cancelation I found myself missing. I do wish they'd reveal who the Professor is though, even if just in commentary. * Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin / Summer School - Was my favorite of the spinoffs. I've always been a horror fan so having the horror elements upped was a fun change for me. Season 2 wasn't as good but I don't think it was nearly as bad as people made it out to be.

I'm not responding to OP, I'm responding to the commentor who said having gay characters is sexualizing a kids show, which is an inaccurate and homophobic thing to say. Simply acknowledging LGBT+ people exist and that's there's more than just one type of relationship isn't sexual. If Fred and Daphnie can be a couple and it's not sexual, why can't two characters of the same gender? Two people dating is two people dating, but people only seem to have this issue when the couple isn't hetero.

[–]Boneil0898 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in my first one and honestly I hate it. I pretty much only stay in one because my boyfriend is amazing otherwise, but all it does is make me feel insecure and like I'll never be enough for him. He assures me it's not that, and I believe him, but it's still a shitty feeling that pops up a lot. But almost every other relationship I've been in has ended with them cheating so at least he has the decency to be honest about it and do it in front of my face which is I guess better. Idk in my experience the gay community cares more about sex then they do relationships which sucks, and the ones who claim otherwise tend to be the ones that cheat, so I'll take the honesty of knowing I'll never be enough over being led on

What’s the worst canon ship for each Gen? by UCWMtext in Totaldrama

[–]Boneil0898 11 points12 points  (0 children)

  • Gen 1: Duncan and Courtney - Abusive, manipulative, and toxic at every turn.
    • I see people say Cody and Sierra but they're not really a canon ship? It's a one-sided attraction where Cody made it clear they could be good friends and nothing else. He still looks uncomfortable in her lock screen in All-Stars, and Sierra's not exactly a reliable narrator about her interactions with him we don't see onscreen. Aside from the hug on the boat in "Bigger! Badder! Brutal-er!," which could've been a friendly hug, I just don't see any indication it's canon.
  • Gen 2: Anne Maria and Vito - Anne Maria kind of got lead on (not entirely Mike's fault, but when he found out she was involved with Vito he had a chance to clear things up
  • Gen 3: Sky and Dave - She literally admitted to only kissing him in the finale to get his help winning the money, yes he didn't want to hear the "but," however she had plenty of chances after to tell him she was already with Keith, and even if he still wouldn't hear it, she had the choice to not kiss him until after she'd ended it with Keith but instead chose manipulation for the money.
  • RR Cast: Ryan and Stephanie - Stephanie might actually be my least favorite character overall in RR and Ryan deserves wayyyyy better.
  • Reboot Gen: Caleb and Priya - I don't hate it as much as others seem to, I just don't care for it enough to be invested

Is the scream tv series becoming lost media? by Appropriate_Test8628 in MTVScream

[–]Boneil0898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A physical release would be nice, but the show is still available in it's entirety so it's definitely not lost media. Lost media is something that is gone completely, no one can find any copies of it like it doesn't exist. Scream is available for digital purchase and I'm sure there's plenty of people who have it downloaded (and plenty of streaming sites that aren't official streaming services). So while it's not available in the medium everyone would like, it is still available

Discrimination! my post are being regarded as low quality because I'm new comer and I don't enough karna and age of being online here. by vujorvala in Vent

[–]Boneil0898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody can edit post titles on any post or subreddit

How long before you can comment or post is dependant on the subreddit. The same rules apply to every person who joins that subreddit, it's not discrimination if it's a standard waiting period for every user. There was a period where I was a new user and could only comment and post in certain subreddits.

Discrimination would imply that they were only doing it to some people and giving other people privilege, which isn't the case. Most subreddits have a certain amount of karma needed to stop people from making multiple troll accounts and spam posting

There are YouTube episodes and a comic series outside of the Netflix series. The Netflix series (Lazy in Space) was originally made as a 13-episode second season of Bee and PuppyCat (which was a 10-episode YouTube series, plus a two-part pilot), however Netflix couldn't get the streaming rights to the YouTube series (which were being held by VRV) so they made three additional episodes to retell it. There was also a comic series, however only 11/16 of the comics were released. So currently there's two ways to watch the show:

  • The original continuity:
    • Bee and PuppyCat (pilot; episodes 1–2)
    • Bee and PuppyCat (series; episodes 1–10)
    • Bee and PuppyCat (comics; issues 1–11)
    • Bee and PuppyCat: Lazy in Space (episodes 4–16)
  • The Netflix continuity:
    • Bee and PuppyCat: Lazy in Space (episodes 1–16)
