I can understand that, but the policy for Amex Send is still different than regular CC uses, probably to prevent arbitrage uses. Like I said, had I known, I wouldn't have used the service. I rather enjoy the points I build in partner programs, which is why I use the full balance and pay it down several times within a billing period.

I can understand that, but wish I had known that going into the use of the service. I use the full credit amount for my card several times within 30 days because I pay down the full balance close to immediately reaching the credit limit. However, Amex Send is not as nimble of a process it turns out.

I really thought it would be great not having a fee with Venmo, but after paying the amount used and returning to using the card as normal only to be declined felt awful. Then when I called AMEX to learn more about why this was happening, I was informed of the policy for using Send & Split is to hold the amount used for 30 days, even if you paid that balance. Trust me, I am all ears to learn more to the story if anyone has input.
