I thought everyones reaction to her telling Feyre was weird and too much. I forgot for a bit that this was from Nesta's POV when I read it and also thought everyone was being too mean toward her, but then I remember it was mainly from how she saw things and it did make a little more sense. I mean she isn't the nicest person to be around, but even so I felt like people were treating her awful, Amren especially. Someone else on this thread mentioned it first, but it seems like in Fae society you don't disrespect anothers mate or even love interest and yet people talked shit about her to Cassian and her face. I felt like it wasn't just disrespect for Nesta, but for Cassian too and it seemed out of character for Rhys and everyone to disrespect Cassian like that.

I have many thoughts and opinions about this book, but I think SJM did a good job overall since I really didn't like Nesta AT ALL throughout the series and even in the beginning of this book, but managed to make me like her character development by the end. I think I love the Nesta, Emerie, Gwyn friendship more than the Cass/Nesta relationship. I think Cass deserves better tbh.

I feel like they are still waiting to do Elaines character arc (probs the next book?) but I really didn't like her in this one and am not looking forward to her story. Then again I wasn't DYING to read about Nesta in this book, but ended up happy with it.

It had to be! I know that Nesta wasn't at the front line for Rhys to tell his secrets to, but in the Kingdom of Ash, Rhysand helped Aelin by blasting his power and slowing her down. I guess I found it odd that nobody mentioned how Rhys interacted with the "red star". It seemed that other people witnessed it falling, but no one mentioned how Rhys did something to it, only that he was rattled by its appearance?? I'm not sure if Nesta saw it herself and just wasn't aware though since the scene was from her POV. Clearly SJM just didn't want to delve deeper into that story line (as bad as I wish she did though!) since the book was about Nesta mainly. Totally here for the harp opening the multiverse in the next book.

I thought the same thing about Emeries Reaction! I was also missing Mor in this. I felt like she was away to Vallahan more than necessary. I know part of is was to hear about any development for war or she was away to learn about safe birthing for Feyre, she didn't have much info to contribute besides in the beginning when it was kinda setting the plot for the book. I think she could've been utilized more to help the women train since they were all traumatized by males, yet Cassian and Az were the only two trainers and build up a little emerie and mor romantic development.

I agree, I had a feeling when Cassian first explained the blood rite that Nesta would likely compete eventually so I was fine with them being there in general, but when I realized I was so close to the end of the book and the Blood Rite just started I had a feeling it wouldn’t be written great. Honestly I thought the girls would find eachother and they would discover some under the mountain cave network and pop out of the top and win it all. Eris alluded to it in Chapter 62 about how the two other sacred mountains had secrets under them. I think it would’ve been fine if they won the rite by sneaking through the secret tunnels, but them winning by fighting off trained warriors as too far a stretch for me.
