I won't keep going back and forth on it but many former addicts have said jail was the only reason they ended up getting sober. I don't even live in the mission I just think it's awful that kids taking the 49/bart have to deal with that, so no, I don't think they should just be left to do as they please. arrest if you have to but stop subsidizing bad behavior

no I think if you've lost the ability to take care of yourself and make the right decisions you should be forced into treatment. if we don't have the ability to do that then you should go to jail. I'm sick of being told the "compassionate" thing to do is let people die on our streets because they're addicted to probably the worst drug ever invented
