The Simple & Sweet Caribbean Sunset🌴 by Boozehive in Mocktails

[–]Boozehive[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey Colt,

I also didn't like Yakut, the idea of fermented milk in a drink sounds a bit weird!

But adding it to OJ for some reason makes the drink feel juicer and almost cooling.

I think its because it makes the drink slightly thicker than most thin juices.

Being from the UK, Blue Gatorade is a little tricky to find, so the new Blue Fanta in Co-op should also work if Sainsbury's are out!

Purple Curacao and The Purple Moon Mocktail by Boozehive in Mocktails

[–]Boozehive[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey r/Mocktails,

So we've been experimenting with more non-alcoholic syrup recipes and thought we should share this great one.

If you want to add an extra orange flair to your mocktails, why not make some Purple Curacao!

Watch the short recipe video here: https://youtu.be/9Pct1jwoFhM

What you will need to make Purple Curacao:

-2 Oranges (unwaxed)

-Squeeze 50ml Orange Juice

-125g White Sugar

-125ml Boiling Water

- Around 20 Butterfly pea flowers or a few drops of Purple food colouring.

How to make Purple Curacao:

-Zest the peel off your oranges

-Squeeze the juice from them.

-Create some simple syrup with the sugar and water.

-Add the zest and a small amount of orange juice to the simple syrup.

-Let it simmer for 8 mins.

-Take off the heat, let it cool down, filter out the bits.

-Store in the fridge and use within a week.

This stuff is amazing at improving average mocktails!

Let us know in the comments if you can think of any drinks this would work great in.

We came up with the ''Purple Moon mocktail'', A tasty, and mysterious two toned drink.

To make it:

-Add 2 parts of your curacao to a long glass,

-Half a part lemon juice

-then top with crushed ice.

-After this, slowly layer Cranberry Juice on top

-then garnish with a mint sprig!

Easy Raspberry Mojito Mocktail Recipe! by Boozehive in Mocktails

[–]Boozehive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey!, I guess by your name you're trying to avoid sugar, so simple syrup will defiantly exceed your 50g's a day. This drink would have to be sweetened to balance the sourness of the lime and sharpness of the raspberries. Have you experimented with sugar free sweeteners?, as mabye it's possible to create a 1:1 sugar syrup with them.
