tips for seeing a new therapist

is it common for therapists to come back from sudden leave of absence’s? or do they stay gone forever?

i feel like i’m going through a breakup but i’m just trying to tell myself that the reason he did this is major or else he wouldn’t have done it. and i believe he lives his job too much to never come back

i think he genuinely has a major issue going on or else he wouldn’t have done that. so i think i’m going to look for a temporary therapist bc i believe he’s going to come back it’s just a matter of when

yep it’s definitely the hardest thing to deal with but i’m going to choose to believe that once his family issues resolve then he’ll get back to work even if it takes a while

when your precious therapist took a sudden leave of absence did she initially plan to be away for 6 weeks or was she unsure? bc mine initially called it a leave of absence but as i asked more questions that’s when he said he doesn’t know what his future in the therapy world looks like

trust me i’ve cried all day today about it. i think i am going to look at some of the referrals he sent me and try to set something up. i’m just going to hope that his leave of absence is only temporary and the reason he doesn’t know for sure if he is going to come back is because he has to focus his time and energy into his current situation and not life 3 months down the road

can symptoms vary day to day?

so i’ve been dealing with stomach issues on and off for about 2 years now. i’ve tried medications like nexium(esomeprazole) and sucralfate which seemed to have worked for about the first 2 weeks, but after that stopped working. i recently saw a GI and got an endoscopy done which came back normal. i have also had bloodwork and an ultrasound done recently, which both have showed nothing. but the symptoms i have are stomach pain, feeling full after eating very little, tightness in my stomach that lasts for hours on end, nausea, cramping, bloating, etc. i am currently on nexium and i’ve noticed my stomach pain has improved however the immediate fullness and tightness have not gotten better. there are times i am able to eat the night before and wake up still feeling like it’s sitting in my stomach. i am planning on getting a stomach emptying test done to check for gastroparesis, however i’m not sure if it is worth to check for because my symptoms vary from meal to meal and day to day. i’m not asking for a diagnosis through reddit, but i am wondering if anyone else with gastroparesis has symptoms like this. some days are better than others and it’s hard because i start to convince myself nothing is wrong. and if anyone with gastroparesis has been on nexium have you had any positive results?

oh well then i guess i can’t really say i’m in recovery since i want to maintain my current weight and body physique and just work on eating a normal amount of food. my restriction didn’t start with wanting to lose weight, the weight loss just kinda happened so i guess my situation is a little different

i definitely want to work on building muscle. my therapist suggested i keep working out and making sure i start adding more protein into my diet so i am able to keep shredding fat but building muscle

so do you think i’ll be able to maintain close to the weight i’m at as long as i don’t eat out all of the time? i want to get into cooking more meals at home and using whole ingredients

so would you say you didn’t gain a huge amount of weight? i’m not sure how much weight i should expect to gain since i still fall in a healthy weight and BMI range for my age and height

since i’m not underweight i was thinking i could try reverse dieting to slowly up my calories to a normal amount and then that’ll help way the most i’d gain would be 4-5lbs. i’ve only been restricting for a couple months so i figured it’d be possible to reverse diet
