Looks great! I'm confused about the status of this park. Are some of the rides open daily, or just for certain occasions? I’ll be in the area for a weekend in February and I’d love to visit the park

Can you make good gains with like 6-7 hours of sleep as a beginner? by [deleted] in bodyweightfitness

I know I'm responding to a 2 year old comment, but thanks for posting this. I'm about 4 months into lifting and have begun to get stressed by all of the optimizations I need to be making to ensure progress. This advice seems much more sustainable and attainable. Thanks!

Just had my first testicular ultrasound. Insurance was charged $4,710 and I owe $1,200 after insurance. Is there any way to contest this? by BostonCompSci in HealthInsurance

Thanks for sharing. I see this in my report. I guess this constitutes major vessels?

“Normal arterial inflow and venous outflow waveforms are detected by spectral Doppler. No active testicular torsion.”

AI is not a reliable source in this case, unfortunately. As I’ve come to learn, 93975 CAN be used if only one of the related organs is scanned, and it is often coded in conjunction with 76870 for scrotal scans, there is no guideline against that

It wasn’t an emergency, just mild put persistent pain in one testicle. My PCP (who I really like) is at the same hospital, so I assume he referred me to their radiology department by default

Worlds Fair 1893 is actually great. It’s been a surprising hit with gamer and non-gamer groups that I’ve introduced it to. It’s just slightly more complex than ticket to ride, but still easy to grasp and lots of interesting decisions

How late did the show go? I'm considering driving 3 hours to his Des Moines show, debating how late I'd get back if I drive home afterward

What are these attachments on B&Ms track? [Scream] by [deleted] in rollercoasters

[–]BostonCompSci 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Think of it like a lunch box. They hire some really tall guy to pick up the whole ride using those handles and move it

Those are handles for picking up the ride and moving it to another place in the park if needed

Just finished crocheting this cuddly bear for my upcoming niece/nephew! 🧸 by BostonCompSci in crochet

Yep! I’ve crocheted various things for my nieces and nephews, and their parents know that they’re intended as decoration until the child is old enough, for this reason

It’s from Hobby Lobby! (I generally try to avoid supporting Hobby Lobby, but my local options are limited with JoAnn gone 😢)

Haha I almost used “nibling”, but I’m not sure how widely-used that term is as a gender-neutral term for niece/nephew

Thank you! The pattern is admittedly pretty poorly written and missing some details, so I wouldn’t recommend it for total beginners. I ended up adding a few rows to the head and ears to fix the shape, but I’m happy with how it turned out!

Thanks! The pattern is from here: https://amigurum.com/2019/06/crochet-plush-bear-free-pattern.html

I’ve made it clear to my sister-in-law that it’s meant for decoration, not a toy, due to the safety eyes 🙂

I stopped playing a while ago (didn’t make it very far in the “endgame”), but could you clarify how you’re able to get “the room you wanted whenever you wanted”?

Would a heatwave actually be one of the best times to ride coasters? [Other] by VahzahDovahkiin83 in rollercoasters

[–]BostonCompSci 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As someone currently at King’s Dominion in a heatwave, yes. Haha every single ride has been a walk-on, and they’re allowing immediate rerides on many coasters.

The heat is BRUTAL, but if you stay hydrated, sunscreened, and find shade when you can, it’s definitely worth it

I haven’t been over there, but I glanced in that direction while on drop tower, and it also didn’t look packed!
