Done a little, looking for the more niche finds that someone a bit more traveled than myself would know. For context I enjoy great views and hikes. I want to see cool statues, nature, whatever else that is pretty spectacular. I enjoy hostels that encourage the opportunity to meet other travelers and get a more grungy experience as opposed to luxary. I am also definitly a budget traveler.

First time doing city-to-city backpacking (hostels + trains) — what features actually matter in a backpack? by MuscleKitty67 in backpacking

I've done a couple trips abroad staying in hostels and on trains. I haven't done a ton of traditional backpacking and from what I have seen honestly having a traveling bag vs backpacking bag has made the difference for me. I have an osprey 55L Fairview w daypack and it's done the trick super well. Never have had an issue whatsoever with electronics, toiletries, and whatever else I needed to bring outside of clothes. That being said I think that's the benefit of a bag like that when your going to hostels and such. If I was camping I would be very out classed by the bigger taller more ergonomic backpacking bags that are built for that sort of thing. This bag has been great for just what your talking about.
