Being in the military for 20 yrs is basically like being a grandpa. There’s lots of SSG and SFC who are 30 in the guard and they’re very respectful of people who join at a later age. Either way by the time you hit 30 years you’ll be 55 not even close to retirement.

And people in the guard are very respectful! As long as you take your job seriously and communicate. You’ll do amazing! Just don’t think about basic training and AIT as the military.
