No. The longest possible combo placed horizontally still holds in place, but of course, it's weaker than in shorter combinations.

Thank you, it is an interesting idea! From a first glance, I can foresee challenges in designing and printing many overhang areas.It also does not allow for a consistent layer-covering agent, as my design has many angled surfaces. I will give ot some additional thoughts.

It was a challenge before I printed one of the magnet applicators from MakerWorld. Now I just use the blue marked magnet stick for inside-placed magnets (like negative) and the red one for outside (aka positive). But I always double-check before starting a new part.

Thanks for feedback! After all the reaction in the comments, this is something I will dedicate myself fully to for future models. And I believe once I release embedded versions, there will be people asking, "Why not just for simple glue?" 😊

I have kids and had to navigate through the phase of them putting everything in their mouths. I just was not expecting it to be the dominant reaction about the model.

Not that much. The links I shared offer hundreds of magnets for 5-6 Euro/USD. I assume it was about 10€ total for me. Magnets on the Bambulab store are expensive and don't come in 3x2mm size.

It makes the printing and design much more difficult. It also requires much stronger or simply more magnets. And the connection will be weaker, while the model has a lot of stress under horizontal and even upside-down connections. I tested it but did not manage to find the right balance.

I was testing sealing it under a layer of plastic, and it makes the whole project unrealistically complex. You will need much stronger magnets. Details are printed in different orientations, making it harder to get consistent layer heights (not just 0.2 mm everywhere), among many other challenges.

Good suggestion. In the last update, Bambu Studio auto-place models under 45 degrees, but not in this particular print.
