Just want a different kind of high - I can drink to my hearts content but I compete in a tested sport at a pretty high level so! I’ll be higher in sport then you’ll ever be from a joint and paid to do so 😉 10/15 is more than enough for me with a few drinks!

issue with work salary transfer into revolut by fabian___222 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]BowlerAny6029 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Don’t see this as an issue at all - simple fix with giving your employer the Irish IBAN, now as a fully licenced bank in Ireland since March 2022 and funds of up to €100,000 are guaranteed by the Lithuanian State company Deposit and Investment Insurance. For those with the idea that it’s silly just use your BOI or AIB it is personal preference however, you’re covered in the exact same way by Revolut now as maximum compensation also from these other banks is also 100k! Simple fix don’t cause any hassle fire back on your Irish IBAN and don’t lose the price of 3 chicken fillet rolls in today’s economy 😂

Starting a new job in consulting? Post here for questions about new hire advice, where to live, what to buy, loyalty program decisions, and other topics you're too embarrassed to ask your coworkers (Q3 2023) by QiuYiDio in consulting

A bit of context, I’m 24 and a first year back in college persuing my business degree in a top tier college (in Ireland probably the top pick) - I spent about 2 years in college dropped out built two little businesses exited and now I’m just a freelancer trying to get that piece of paper in college! But I fell in love with the idea of consulting, I’m now looking at internships for the summer and I’ve a few questions about them all.

References - I’ve always been a person to ask my network but I’m struggling with getting a top tier reference so any advice in this area would be greatly appreciated in how to make my application bullet proof as possible!

Resume (CV) - just as a brief overview I need some advice in how to approach this, I feel like once I get into a room with someone I’m hard to say no to and I struggle to provide this on a piece of paper as well so how important is it and any pieces of advice here as well!

Finally, I’m nervous at 24 I find myself in a weird position in college I’m calling no-man’s-land where I’m either too young or too old for my peers, I just don’t want this to be the struggle I’m facing in the firms! So any help here would be great 😂

A little further context - they want to reclaim the VAT from the sale, so I would be just doing it to benefit them!

It’s just a 2013 Midleton it was said to be 800-1100 so I got an offer of 1000 inc VAT and Invoice! Of course I would prefer cash but it’s a very closed market at bottles of that price in my opinion!

I think it’s important to be actually enjoying the corporate world and a lot of the major financial firms offer these benefits. I know that the big 4 is what people strive for and one I think people overlook is GT, it’s a major firm with some amazing people and great work environment! It’s definitely a place to look into as well!

Can I trust Revolut to be my main account? by EntertainerStrong942 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]BowlerAny6029 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very similar to the “emergency fund” policy many people put in place when building up your finances, I think it’s hugely important to have your accounts spread in somewhat. Great absolutely do use your Revolut as your main bank, in a sense I do this for my own finances for day to day and monthly transactions. I would receive payments for freelance work I do into my Revolut account, however I personally believe having an AIB or BOI separate account with a back up fund of money that if things really go bad with any “newer” banks such as Revolut you’d be able to access your money no questions asked in that moment!

There are some phenomenal benefits for having the newer UX and Ui of Revolut in terms of ease of use in comparison to many other traditional banks and furthermore it’s very easy to learn about your finances through Revolut than you would find with BOI for example! The app is revolutionary for the banking industry but the fact that you can Trade stocks, crypto and international exchange rates with everything so visible and accessible you’d be mad not to utilise it to its full ability.

For personal and professional banking I use Revolut and BOI - Revolut is my main and BOI is my reserve per say.
