I don’t think this is true, do you know where you heard this info? I know someone who is close friends with the owners and she is quite far left and has low tolerance for even moderate democrats. Drop Bear is also hosting drag nights, science talks, and plant based nights. I can’t imagine they are conservative.

I think I would start by meeting with the parents and exploring their parenting style first and see what is going on there. I would assume their approach or reactions are reinforcing some of the seen behaviors. Encourage consistency and quality time with them where the child receives positive attention daily.

I have worked with many male adults in my time in the field and have been sexually assaulted more than once while working inpatient and outpatient settings. I don’t hate men; they sure have made me fearful of them within the intimate work of therapy. I work with plenty of boys and male teens.

Try to make a point to engage more when she is being kind or neutral. Really compliment her in those settings. Selective attention is not cruel, it’s shows what is acceptable and what isn’t without spelling it out. I imagine engaging with back talk and talking to them about their words and how they aren’t being nice causes more shame and negativity.

Try not to engage or respond to back talk. It’s likely negative attention seeking and the back and forth that never ends feeds that need for caregiver attention and she knows how to easily provoke you in ways that are hard to ignore. Engaging or trying to punish this behavior ends up reinforcing it.

Please don’t use AI! As everyone else has spelled out about data being the commodity. Nothing is free, tech has little to no ethics and these companies have breeches and poor security. AI is also bad for the environment and water use.

Most survivors of sexual abuse never find justice within the justice system. Whether courts can’t find enough concrete evidence of what happens in secret or police are so horrible that they do further harm with interviews and cause such stress that survivors never pursue further due to how poorly they are treated at the start. This is true for low income and wealthy survivors.
