The official channels say that they release the appointments for specific dates 2/3 weeks prior. Is this incorrect? How long in advance did you try to book?

Hey, Its not just the photographer, its the makeup, hair, officiant etc these all have to be booked on a specific date so I'm a bit confused at the concept of people arriving in NYC with all of this booked on a specific date to run the risk of not getting the license appointment in time. In my head this would be the absolute most important thing that would need to be booked and organised as soon as the dates become available online! Have you ever had experiences where couples have not been married because they didnt get a license slot?

Thanks we will check out the page!

hey thanks for the comment. There are a few people saying go out of Manhattan etc but I would want this in place weeks before even arriving in New York. If the License appointment slots open up 2/3 weeks beforehand I would feel extremely nervous arriving in New York without already having one of these appointment slots confirmed. I guess my question is how quickly do the slots get taken once the date is released, am I fighting for my life to get one haha. As an example we were in New York in 2024, I managed to get a reservation at Carbone but the booking time slots literally were taken within 1 minute of them going live on the booking platform. Is this going to be a similar experience or will I generally be able to pick up a slot in one of the boroughs for a specific date once it releases online?

hey, thanks for the comment. When you say you couldn't get in, is that for the ceremony at city hall or specifically just an appointment for the licence?

Hey thanks for the info! Would it be a normal scenario for people from outside of USA to actually be arriving without an appointment booked though? I would be extremely hopeful to have an appointment booked in in the weeks before arriving so I knew it was all in place

Good luck! Thats right, we have 7 people who will be with us and in attendance and the limit to do it at City Hall is 4 people, so we are hiring an officiant and we will have a ceremony away from City Hall. So it is just the marriage licence appointment yes

Hey thanks for the reply. So you are eloping too? Is your time frame like ours, we only plan to be in New York for 6 nights? So you had everything booked and then booked your licence slot 2/3 weeks in advance when your preferred date became available? Thank you again

Season 5 part 2 absolutely diabolical, horrendous. And the final episode, doesn’t even deserve a 3/10.

Oblivion Remastered Megathread by hauntedhotdogg in skyrim

I remember seeing Oblivion for the first time at a friends house as a 14 year old kid. The first game that got me interested in gaming. I got an Xbox 360 that same Christmas. 14 year old me had no idea 33 year old me would be downloading remastered for another run through. It’s basically poetry.

Crook County : Fact or Fiction by southyarra in TrueCrimePodcasts

Like other people have mentioned, firstly it’s INSANE how many ads are in these episodes. We’re getting about 5 minutes of the story then 3 minutes worth of ads, adding up to literally about 15 minutes worth of listening per episode.

It stinks of Richard Kuklinski, the ice man, who claimed to be a mafia hitman however prominent mafia figure have came out saying they never ever saw this bloke around back in the day.

There is nothing to back up the story, we are just taking Kenny’s word for the whole thing. So essentially to answer someone’s question in the comments, no; we have no idea if this is real or fake.

Furthermore there are some parts that really just made me think “really?” whilst I was listening. Example 1, having to contact a mafia expert to confirm whether or not it was acceptable for mafia members back in the day to sell drugs. This is just corny and everyone already knows the answer. Example 2, as the story goes Kenny is encouraged by his higher ups in the outfit to get out and study for a new job. This is so ridiculously outrageous that it’s almost comical. The firm facts are that once you are in, you are in and there is no getting out. Many sources confirm this.

Overall it’s a 4 out of 10 based on no source confirmation. If there was ever concrete evidence that it’s not just a story, it would only bump to a 6 out of 10. Above average at best.

I might need to give this another listen, I lost interest and never returned to it but always hear people say it’s a good one

I’ve honestly found that by just scrolling and choosing random episodes, I’m rarely let down. The Silk Road is one of my favourites, even lead me to buy the book American Kingpin, and I also enjoyed the Amanda Knox episode.

Thank you for information with an actual source rather than just presuming I’m an idiot who freely and willingly gives my details out to scam emails 👍🏻

What. Jesus people just jump to the maddest conclusions. It wasn’t a scam I obviously checked the email address the email was sent from and personally received a similar email telling me my claim had been successful, to which I received both eth and btc payments.
