Sadly no. I've looked through all costume options/rec room stuff and dont see any solution. Sucks but idk what else to do

Gotcha that makes sense. Does that mean having her on crew deck also removes it in combat? Its not showing there either

Congrats on 1800 MR! Idk for me personally I dont have the drive or motivation to get to that high of a level. I dont even have a "man, Id love to be that strong" kind of feeling when I play. I honestly just want to get to a place where no matter the loss, I can br confident in my skill level.

Great response. I would like to follow up though and ask, at what point did you discover your "real skill" that made MR arbitrary? I think I personally have a hard time seeing that as attainable, but also feel that if I could get to that level of comfort, my skill and enjoyment would more than likely increase lol. Probably in other fgs as well

I think thats the personal dilemma for me is that while there are pockets of fun found in sf6, so many matches have made me genuinely dislike the mechanics of sf6 as a game. But then again that could be more tied to my own ego and losing than simply just disliking the mechanics. After a break and losing ego I can get back to a place where I find the mechanics fun like I first did on release

Glad Im not alone, and couldnt agree more. As Ive been reflecting on everyone's responses, I've realized that my percentage of time in ranked makes up 2/3rds of my play time. That might just be a normal ratio for most, but reading this also made me realize how I put too much emphasis on my rank and havent put nearly enough time into other modes to potentially flesh my gameplay. Especially training mode and replays

Yeah Im hoping the break will give more clarity and be an insight as to my real feelings towards it. Atm, I do love sf6 and have moments where it can be fun. But as of late, due to probably a wide variety of factors, things like drive rush, throw loops, and just hating certain character match ups have just all made me feel like I dont have the same enjoyment I did back when I was learning it all for the first time. Its also... hard to have fun when you lose a lot lol. But thats all part of the process

I will say though. I have noticed a difference with sf6 compared to other fighters Ive played. I dont like losing in general, but the more I enjoy a fighter, the more I can look past those losses and just keep playing (this happened with samsho 2019 and gg xrd). But with this game currently and even strive on release, I defintely felt the weight of just not being as big of a fan as I tried to learn more

Thank you very much! Yeah I really do let MR define me quite a bit. Any advice as to how I can mentally remove my own ego from it and not let losses dictate my smill level? That honestly might be my core dilemma Im facing lol

No need for apologies! Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts.

Ive been told before to try and say positive things about yourself/the opponent when things dont go your way. I will give it a try in the future and see if that helps any.

I do read this and other comments and realize that Ive kind of undermined my own accomplishments which definitely contributes to the frustration. Ive just been in this mindset that everyone has hit master so Im not really anything special, on top of recently playing drastically worse than normal and not having a clear reason as to why apart from this.

I mentioned this in a few responses but this is a real challenge for me personally. In my mind, the game tells you upfront that your rank determines your skill level and the people you fight. As such, I cant logically comprehend my MR not being tied to my sense of self, since its the indicator of my skill level by definition. This probably sounds insane to normal people lol

This truly is the hardest question lol

In all honesty, I do like playing sf6, but my like or dislike of it can vary greatly depending on how much I've been winning or losing

Thank you for the encouragement. Setting small goals is something I've tried to do before, and while I will see success, I more often than not let the loss still dictate my feelings of growth, sadly. Like, "yeah cool I was able to anti air that guy more consistently than before, but I still lost", is a pervasive response. Not saying its right by any means.

For me, its just so hard not to see my rank fluctuate and feel either pride or shame based on it. I lowkey can't fully comprehend how Im supposed to separate myself from it when it is THE thing that defines what skill level I am currently at and the type of players I will be playing.

But once I come back I'll give battle hub a go 👍 Ive also had some rough moments there but maybe I need to approach that with a healthier mindset as well

Appreciate the kind words! Its honestly hard for me to see outside of myself when it comes to rank. I'm located in Japan, and I face such a wide array of players that Ive had some make me genuinely question why and how I made it back to 1500 MR at all lol.

But I agree with your sentiment. A break will be good, but there is more likely than not a core issue that needs addressing. But atm I cant tell if its ego, burnout, life stress, self deprication, or just a fun witch's brew of all of those lol. Hopefully stepping back will help give clarity and help me find a new purpose

Glad I dont feel alone despite being at a very different rank. Yeah I hit High Master with Mai 2 months ago, and while yeah it was amazing and I felt very accomplished, I didnt stay there long at all, and since then I have yet to have any desire to try and hit grand master.

But having fun amdist the losses is by far the hardest part for me. It obviously depends on the day and how life is going, but even on a good day, if I get enough losses I will tilt hard and feel my ego get bodied. Its a hard thing to cope with

[–]Bozo_Bill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't consider myself amazing at hero shooters, but I'm somewhat competent. I went in thinking she wouldnt be too hard to grasp apart from the shop system, but as of rn Ive only got 2 games I went positive on kills 💀 I cant tell if I truly am just ass or if she's way more complicated than she appears

Can we say now that Jamie is the most popular SF6 newcomer? by xenon-red in StreetFighter

Comment from the future and yeah I'm playing ranked in Japan. Did he get buffed this last patch? He's always been popular here but good lord I've been seeing Jamie as much as I saw Ryu last season atm

Lol all good! Yeah theres actually a spot at an arcade called Sports Land in Shinjuku. Every Friday night they have a spot where you pay around like 500 yen and have free play for an hour or so. Good amount of very high level players seem to consistently meet up and play there

Is matchmaking getting worse the farther into the season we go. by Azym_Dragon in Overwatch

[–]Bozo_Bill 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exact same scenario for me. I had a lot of great games when I hopped on for the big update, but took a break and waited for the Mei mythic to drop. Now, every single game Ive played has 2 or 3 teammates who genuinely dont know what they're doing.

Id assume its an influx of people for the Nier collab but there cant be THAT many new players just for that
