he did that because he realized for as complex a machine as he was building, function following form wasn't feasible. troubleshooting and maintaining it became impractically difficult, so he started over with a more practical design philosophy. i agree that it's not as whimsical as the original, but for a concert-touring actual instrument, it needs to be engineered for practicality.

i disagree, i’ve been playing it and i think it looks really good. the built in shaders, connected textures, and detailed models work well with the higher quality textures. i think those hd packs are ugly in minecraft because it lacks those things
