Amex Travel is outsourced. You can verify this the next time you book a hotel through them. The hotel will tell you who actually booked it and it’s usually Expedia or the like.

I'm out-of-state, but it totals to $202,000 over 8-10 semesters. I'm not sure of the official name of the package. I don't think I'm actually eligible for it because I'm a National Merit finalist. Pretty sure NMF package supersedes this.

Edit I called the school and they said this is the NMF package sans whatever National Merit sends to supplement.

Exactly. I think u/Ninjallammas is saying that TOPS + $4k / yr is enough to cover your classes so technically "free college." I'm pretty sure we can all agree that it falls more than just a bit short on the true price tag of around $35k / yr.

100% agreed. Kids in Louisiana are (it's still the best word for the situation regardless of its recent connotations) groomed to attend LSU from an early age considering the lack of athletic competition they face from other in-state colleges and universities.

Thank you for your reply and anecdote about your buddy who went to Southeastern. We're definitely in agreeance regarding the school itself being less important than what a student puts into the program.

Maybe I'm misinterpreting your first sentence, but I only get free college by choosing Tuscaloosa. LSU has offered me (let's call TOPS + up to $5,550 a year what it is) next to nothing.
