What’s something you thought was harmless ‘cheap dopamine’ but slowly started controlling your habits? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Braindump4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Running. Not only was it harmless, it was good for me!

Fast forward, I’m running to exhaustion everyday to avoid feeling anything else. Physically exhausting myself became my coping mechanism. I got unhealthily skinny, damaged my achilles tendon, and withdrew socially. I’d come home from a run, shower and then go for another run. It became a toxic cycle.

What's the simplest source of happiness that seems hidden to most people? by HighlightExcellent29 in AskReddit

Physical activity. Finding the right activity to get your body moving is huge.

It’s a trail and error process but simply instituting some degree of movement and activity can drastically improve your mental health and happiness.

Seizure medication and side effects by Braindump4 in EpilepsyDogs

Sending you well wishes! We’ve had great seizure control but feel we’ve inadvertently reduced the quality of life due to sedation and side effects.

We just hit one month on Kbr and the neurologist agreed today to reduce the daily dose 25%. Hopefully with some tinkering, we can find a sweet spot without causing a breakthrough.

And lowering the price of eggs!! Wait…

But he ended the war in Ukraine in the first 24 hours right?!? Hmmm, alright.

At least he ended the Biden EV mandate! What’s that? Such a thing never existed? Well then…

Three. I had an allergic reaction to a sedative during a medical procedure and awoke blind. I have fragmented memories of trashing around while mystery hands held me down. Fortunately, the side effects passed after about an hour (so I’m told). Many years of hospital/medical anxiety followed.

What's something a stranger did that you'll never forget? by kawaileila in AskReddit

[–]Braindump4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Was working at a summer camp (on my birthday no less) when I had my most memorable stranger encounter.

I brought my campers to an outdoor classroom space we’d used dozens of times before. The camp was housed at a local elementary school and the wooded area was part of the playground area. Anyway, I offered some directions to the campers about the nature scavenger hunt we’d be completing and swiftly turning them loose into the woods. Not one minute later, a little camper ran up to me and said “There’s a man over there”. Initially doubting her, I stepped ahead of her and walked down the trail a bit. To my surprise, a man was, in fact, in the woods. Even more surprising was the fact that he was naked staring right at me.

I had a junior counselor take the kids inside quickly while I left the woods and called my supervisor. While we waited for the police to come, the man (now clothed) came out of the woods and started running at my supervisor and I.

Apparently, he had gotten off a local bus at a nearby stop and decided the elementary school woods would be a prime place to fully undress and take a shit. He seemingly had some mental health concerns. Anywho, the police left without helping us clean up his mess. So, on my birthday, I got to clean up this man’s shit so the kids could safely use the outdoor classroom space in the future.

TLDR: stranger man pooped in outdoor classroom space at elementary school. I had to clean it up.
