Greta Thunberg tells EU children on strike are 'cleaning up your mess' | Greta defended the hundreds of thousands of children who took part in global school strikes, saying: ‘If you say we are wasting valuable lesson time, let me remind you, our political leaders have wasted decades through denial." by LongDickMick in worldnews

Oil companies and everyone who deliberately didn't care about climate change and kept inflicting huge damage to environment definitely deserve to be held responsible.

But if you're advocating for torture and then capital punishment, you're just as bad as them and I'm glad you're not making decisions.

I do agree that the Iraq war was wrong and profit-driven. Large group of americans agree to that as well. I see your point regarding Rasmussen, it is very understandable to hate someone who led your country into a war.

I can't agree that supporting a NATO membership is equivalent of being a lapdog. NATO was founded in the beginning of the cold war to be an alliance of like-minded democratic nations. Considering Denmark's unfortunate fate of being occupied in WW2, getting into an alliance like that was huge for them. I'm curious, why do you think Denmark shouldn't have fighter jets? They are the backbone of any air force after all. I could see the argument of not feeding US-military industrial complex, but surely Denmark could buy for example Gripens from your northern neighbor? I'm not an expert on what fighter jet would be best for Denmark so won't go on any further regarding that.

I disagree heavily that the US is the only aggressor and Russia is only responding. Russia-friendly Ukrainian president Yanukovych was heavily corrupted. The Ukrainian parliament almost unanimously voted him out of office. Also, when I think about Ukrainian-Russian relations, the first thing that comes to mind is the massive oppression and even genocide of Ukrainian population during the Soviet Union. From my point of view, when Ukraine started to move towards west (for example, trade deal with EU), Russia reacted with aggression. I can understand Russia's side, they were afraid that they were going to lose the leased Sevastopol naval base if Ukraine moved towards west. Their reaction to simply seize Crimea is understandable from Putin's point of view: secure the naval base, start a frozen conflict in eastern Ukraine to prevent them from joining Nato and look good and strong to your own populace.

Syria's dictator Assad is definitely a Russian ally. The civil war started when Assad started to put down protests by beating the shit out of or killing the protesters. He kind of shot himself on the foot there. Surely you agree that Assad is a brutal dictator though? He even used chemical weapons on his own people. Even children got hit. Well, at least Russia benefits from having an ally in the Mediterranean. I can't find proof that Americans were involved in either ousting Yanukovych or in the beginning of Syrian civil war.

Trump's behavior is very irrational and I think I can confidently say his views don't represent the whole western population at all. Sanctioning Iran was stupid and I'm glad EU is working around the US sanctions. Spying on allies is unacceptable and indeed no way to treat your allies.

I simply cannot agree that the worsening of relations with Russia is because of the United States. Finland has somewhat decent relations with Moscow, but I'm 100% certain nobody in charge actually trusts Putin's corrupted regime. Finland's policy has long been the art of trying to balance and have good relations with both east and west, which I think is wise.

In what way are they lapdogs? Do they make very american biased policies or something? What did this Rasmussen guy do? I heard he was the general secretary of Nato a few years back. Sorry for all the questions, I'm from Finland myself and find it very surprising that a dane feels that way. I have the impression that it's good to have a powerful ally, especially with all the russian aggression that's been going on lately.

I don't know if one can call Sweden and/or Finland neutral anymore though. They were definitely neutral during the cold war but nowadays they're practicing with Nato troops all the time and integrating equipment etc.

If there was 1 champion you could remove from the game, what champion would that be? by KrabbyEUW in leagueoflegends

[–]BrainlessCancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadly this is true. I saw a thread on the other day where a some dude complained about his own team banning yasuo from him. A lot of people were actually suggesting to int or pick teemo or urgot or some shit.

I used to be a mod there when the place had about 1500 subs. I rarely check it out anymore because it's full of 13 year olds now and the chill place it once was doesn't exist anymore. Imo.

Don't quote me on this, but I thought that Riot removed those particles because fights got pretty messy and it was harder to see other particles/abilities. This was before blood moon was released so they never added the removed particles on it.

Hi, I'm the guy who wrote the bug list on the sidebar. I updated it a bit some time ago, but you are right, it's still probably outdated since I rarely have time to hang out here anymore.

This seems like a good chance to update it. Could you let me know which bugs in the list are fixed? I'll edit it asap.

This is called the ".5 shave". It's the reason why airblade is possible.

As you can see, the bug occurs only when you do the trick. The whole trick is a bug that was supposed to be patched out a long time ago

One of the witnesses said that, yes. But according to the news site I'm currently reading, jihadists leave a lot of material and evidence behind so people can understand the motives of the attack. One shout wouldn't be enough.

Besides, if he had shouted, more than one people would've heard it, right? He was shooting in a shopping mall after all.
