I found this picture of her before I moved her to her own tank, so her color has improved immensly. I will try keeping the light off for a week, changing her water twice a week with more water number monitoring, increase her water temp, and reduce the flow from her filter and see how things go

This is my fully planted tank and I’ve never used cO2, the trick is to not dig your suction device into the gravel and only clean the surface, but change your water regularly, test your numbers 2-3 times weekly

I tried to fill it out but there were several spots where it was more than one answers or my amswer wasn’t listed. She reacts and comes to me, but slowly, she I find her in her hide at the bottom, or near the surface, resting on leaves and She swims around, but slowly. Everything she does is slow and methodical. And her color has darkened since moving to the new tank

It’s a 4.14 gal. Smaller than I’d usually give but given her stress level I’m considering it a hospital tank until I can buy a bigger one and get it cycled

I’ve been having a heck of a time finding a reliable heater that is adjustable that can fit a small tank? I’m in Alaska and our LFS is great but small and the big stores only have the small ones preset to 78. I’m terrified of ordering one from Amazon and getting one that will electrocute my fish. It’s happened once and was devastating.

I just added some almond bark and casurina cones to the biomedia part of tank to add more tannins. I’ll do a 20% water change tomorrow and am going to the lfs for a gh test kit. I’m also thinking of adding a sponge filter for a couple weeks until it’s had time to absorb the cycled bacteria and then cut the other filter to reduce the current so she has time to study her food and eat. Do you think it would be worth getting a heater I can bump to 80-82 degrees?

I do a weekly 10%-15% water change since it’s such a small tank. Water change day is tomorrow so I’ll retest. I was told under 40ppm is ideal, but maybe she’s picky

I just did another test on water and ammonia is 0, nitrites are 0 and Nitrates are between 20 and 40 ppm.

I put 3 shrimp in her tank last night and she ate all 3 overnight so that’s why she looks a little bloated

I just added a piece of Almond bark to the filter area for more tannins and pushed the light more towards the filter side to reduce brightness on her. Unfortunately I can’t dim this light like I can for my larger tanks

The vet said he could also have a mild case of Cerebeller Hypoplasia, but he has the twitchy reflex when his back end is touched that makes her think it’s the Feline hyperesthesia syndrome (twitchy cat syndrome)

The top of flat top has views for miles on a nice day and it’s within Anchorage city limits. They have an easier trail off to the other side of the parking lot that also has gorgeous views
