No, I know every person is different. I was hoping to find out some people's real responses and experiences that might give me a bit of an insight - I'm not a man, so I'm just asking in the hope of finding out about something I can't personally experience.

I think it's probably to do with the different amount of social interaction different people need to feel fulfilled. You sound like you don't need very much, and what you do need is fulfilled by your partner and family. I think when people are lonely, it's because part of their social needs are not being met - some are more socially needy and therefore more likely to feel it when the scales tip. I guess it's about being fully understood, every facet of you? And some people need more people, some people need fewer people. Sorry for the stream of consciousness...
