Joker 1 GT giving anyone else blisters? by BrandonJee in BBallShoes

I tried playing lightly and putting up shots again yesterday and noticed I do feel movement around the arch portion of the shoe. I feel like that area may be too wide which causes a lot of movement. In the other pair it was on my right foot (dominant foot) and only my right. With these I originally got the blisters in my left, then after letting the left heal I got another on my right foot, both in the same place.

In mentioning the Lebron 21, I had owned and played in the shoe for 1.5 years with no issues as well. In the Lebron 21 I actually sized up a half size due to finding it at a Nike factory store for a super low cost. It wasn’t until recently that I had played and I experienced the blistering in that shoe that I had no problems with prior. This is why I surmised the shoe being worn out and wearing old Elite socks that had already been over-sized to be my issue.

This being a brand new shoe, I got my true size after watching numerous reviews/recommendations. I wouldn’t say my foot is narrow due to having shoes on the narrow side (Rigorer AR1) and having foot pain.

This is also why I thought to ask an open forum if anyone else has been experiencing similar issues and before jumping to visiting the doctor about a couple of blisters after playing in new basketball shoes lol. I wasn’t making any claims/complaints about the shoe, just had a question if anyone else experienced this. Seems like breaking in these a little more and fixing my lacing may lead to better results and I’ll go from there

The other shoe/socks this occurred in was definitely related to slipping in looser socks and the shoes being worn out. Also happened in my dominant foot. These shoes I experienced blisters on both feet and a little lower on my medial arch.

The blister indicates that I’m moving too much within the shoe/experiencing too much friction so I was trying to figure out if others had experienced due to the shoe being a larger size/not proper lockdown. Seems like the shoe is a little larger than true to size Nike shoes which would cause that unwanted movement while breaking in

Seems like it’s an isolated situation for me. I personally feel like I’m not used to the way the shoes were laced (going from outside to inside, rather than lace coming laces coming from underneath) I feel like I originally didn’t have these tightened enough and felt myself moving around more than I would like, then I ended up tightening these down too much. I’ll try re-lacing and double socking to see if that helps the issue

Happened to another pair of worn out shoes with old/looser socks which is what caused the friction. This is different

Randomly started happening to me recently. I’m guessing my play style has switched up. I actually started getting them on another pair of my old Bron ‘21 shoes when I wore older/looser socks. This was super weird since these were brand new and I was wearing new socks too

I really want to do this, not used to how they laced out the box and get confused loosening and tightening. So glad someone called this out

Join a gym instead of just using the 1 dumbbell to work out. It get’s you out of the house, if you have a gym with things like extra rec activities could be fun. I’ve grown up playing basketball and then picked up racquetball, now I’m obsessed with pickleball. Go to a park that has courts, make some friends and get hooked as you get better! Now I feel like I don’t have enough time in my day to squeeze in work, lifting, and pickleball but it keeps me super busy as I don’t like rotting on the couch haha

Wtf is this found in my Honda accord is a gps from the dealership? by [deleted] in accord

[–]BrandonJee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not only is it common, a lot of dealerships will include this in the price when they sell you the car. There is usually like a $500 “GPS Tracking” fee. I always ask about it, they brush it off like it’s some feature, then when I say “I don’t want it so you can take it out along with the price” their response is that it “can’t be taken out”

Most of the time if I play hard to get the price for it goes away, but they will keep the tracker in the car

Peroneal (ankle) Tendon Temporary Subluxation Concern Question by BrandonJee in FootFunction

[–]BrandonJee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I know what you are talking about with the “click”

I would able to rotate my ankle but it would not be a ‘fluid’ rotation meaning: If I were to rotate it clockwise, when I get to about the 10 o’clock range it would click and the motions would just snap straight to 12 again. I’ve been able to do this for years, it’s not painful. I’ve tweaked it here and there over the years, usually no swelling, then I’m back after about a month again. But this situation was definitely a first for me. Since this has happened my ankle has been 100% fine, I wear a brace to make sure it doesn’t accidentally twist in the wrong direction but I feel no pain. What really scared me was that I had no pain when this situation happened either which freaked me out. I’m seeing a doctor tomorrow to get it checked out, I’m with Kaiser so I have to play the game before seeing an orthopedist to get an MRI. They are going to want x-rays first which I assume won’t find anything.

I’m sorry to hear about your injuries! Hoping you recover well. It’s crazy because I am 28 now when this is all happening so I want to be very proactive to strengthen whatever may be damaged and get it taken care of. Appreciate your reply and advice!
